Second-degree murder, aggravated DUI and criminal damage are three charges on the News 4 Tucson verdict story. Second-degree murder, two aggravated-DUI counts, and three criminal-damage counts are the list on KOLD. 78.8 mph in a 25 mph zone and about 74 mph in a 35 mph zone are not the same speed. Jan. 4, 2027, is the sentencing date News 4 Tucson printed. It is not a term the jury imposed.
News 4 Tucson, the KVOA page, reported a jury found Michael Creel guilty of second-degree murder, aggravated DUI and criminal damage in the 2024 crash that killed Arizona politician John McLean. The page's author line is News 4 Tucson. It does not print a reporter's name. The published time in the page record is Oct. 30, 2026, at 3:51 p.m. MST, and the modified time is 6:00:01 p.m. MST the same day. The story says the verdict came the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 30, that jurors began deliberating Thursday morning after closing arguments wrapped up Wednesday, and that sentencing is set for Jan. 4, 2027. It says the jury determined the state proved beyond a reasonable doubt that the victim's family experienced emotional and financial harm. KOLD, by 13 News Staff and Sean Mahoney, reported a verdict in the case of 27-year-old Michael Martin Creel, accused of killing 68-year-old John McLean. The page record was published Nov. 15, 2024, at 8:51 a.m. MST and modified Oct. 30, 2026, at 3:48 p.m. MST. The verdict paragraphs say he faced second-degree murder, two counts of aggravated DUI with a suspended license and three counts of criminal damage of $10,000 or more, and that on Oct. 30, the eighth day of the trial, he was found guilty on all of them. They say he will be taken into custody and his next court date will be Jan. 4. Three named charges, and a list that is one murder count plus two DUI counts plus three damage counts, are not the same count. Aggravated DUI, and aggravated DUI with a suspended license, are not the same phrase. Criminal damage, and criminal damage of $10,000 or more, are not the same phrase. Jan. 4, 2027, and Jan. 4 with no year, are not the same date string. Taken into custody is KOLD. News 4 Tucson's verdict story does not print it. Day eight is KOLD. News 4 Tucson does not print a day count. Thursday morning and Wednesday, in the News 4 Tucson verdict story, do not have dates attached.
The crash those verdict paragraphs describe is not one intersection string and not one clock. News 4 Tucson reported the charges stem from the Nov. 15, 2024, crash on Tucson's eastside, and that Creel was accused of speeding before running a stop sign on Broadway Boulevard, just east of Houghton Road, and striking the passenger side of McLean's vehicle. It reported prosecutors argued he was driving 78.8 mph in a 25 mph zone. KGUN 9, in a story bylined KGUN 9 News Staff, reported a Tucson Police news release: McLean, 68, was driving his 2019 Toyota Rav4 east on Broadway at around 6 a.m. when a 2018 Ford Explorer driven by 27-year-old Michael Martin Creel, going north on North Ridgeside Drive, struck the passenger side, that McLean was declared dead at the scene, that Creel was not seriously injured, that police determined he was impaired, and that he was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and aggravated DUI. The retrieved KGUN 9 copy did not print a publication clock. KOLD reported the Tucson Police Department said Creel ran a stop sign and hit a vehicle driven by McLean, near Broadway and Houghton, and that he was initially facing a manslaughter charge. Just east of Houghton Road, North Ridgeside Drive, and near Broadway and Houghton are not the same location string. Around 6 a.m. is KGUN 9. The verdict stories do not print 6 a.m. Dead at the scene is KGUN 9. News 4 Tucson's verdict story says the crash killed him and does not print dead at the scene. The Rav4, the Explorer, and the model years are KGUN 9. News 4 Tucson and the KOLD verdict paragraphs do not print them. Age 27, Michael Martin Creel, and age 68 are KOLD and the KGUN 9 crash story. News 4 Tucson's verdict story prints Michael Creel and John McLean and does not print Martin or either age.
The speed and the alcohol are not one number. News 4 Tucson's verdict story says prosecutors argued 78.8 mph in a 25 mph zone. Its Oct. 20, 2026, trial story, by Cassie Scott, quotes the prosecution: "high speeds of 78.8 twice over the speed limit of 25." Twice 25 is 50. The quotation pairs 78.8 with twice and with 25. The verdict story prints 78.8 in a 25 zone and does not print twice. The Oct. 20 page says opening statements began that day. That "today" is not the Wednesday closing arguments in the verdict story. KGUN 9's charge story, bylined KGUN 9 News Staff, reported court records showed he was driving up to 78 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone, that the crash caused McLean's car to flip, that prosecutors said his blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit, and that he was on probation for a separate DUI. The retrieved copy did not print a publication clock. KGUN 9's plea story, by Craig Smith, reported court documents found he was driving about 74 miles per hour in a 35 zone and had breathalyzer results 1.8 times the legal limit. The same story spells him Michael Creel in the lead and Micheal Creel in the sentence about the stop sign. A flip is the charge story. A passenger-side strike is News 4 Tucson and the KGUN 9 crash release. Broadsided is Craig Smith's verb. Hit a vehicle is KOLD. 25 and 35 are not the same limit. 74, 78, and 78.8 are not the same speed. On the alcohol, News 4 Tucson's verdict story reported the defense argued his blood alcohol level could have been affected by alcohol his mother allegedly gave him after the crash, while he was waiting in her vehicle and receiving treatment. The Oct. 20 story quotes the defense that his mother had given him alcohol in that vehicle and that the question is whether the alcohol was consumed before or during driving, or after. The verdict story does not print that quotation and does not print a blood-alcohol number. The KGUN 9 pages retrieved do not print the mother.
What came before the verdict is not what the Oct. 30 stories imposed. Craig Smith reported Creel rejected a plea to second-degree murder that called for 10 to 25 years, that a jury conviction would risk 10 to 32 and a half years, that he was free on a $200,000 bond, and that Judge Christopher Browning said September 16 was the earliest trial date. The story reported McLean's daughter Kathryn asked the judge to set the trial as soon as possible. Those ranges, that bond, that judge, September 16, and that request are not in the News 4 Tucson verdict story. KOLD's page still contains arraignment sentences under the Nov. 15, 2024, published time: he appeared "today, December 5," a judge entered a not guilty plea, bond was set at $200,000, and his attorneys asked for $25,000. Those sentences are still on the page. They are not the Oct. 30 verdict paragraphs. News 4 Tucson reported the emotional and financial harm finding. KOLD did not. KOLD reported he will be taken into custody. News 4 Tucson did not. Neither verdict story printed a prison term. Jan. 4, 2027, is the sentencing date on the News 4 Tucson story. The guilty findings are what that story and KOLD reported the jury returned. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Middle District of Georgia release says Judge Self sentenced Josue Serda to life in prison. FOX 5 Atlanta and WSB-TV say life without parole.
Life in prison, and life without parole, and there is no parole in the federal system, are not the same sentence. More than 50 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 50 kilograms, are not the same quantity. Three investigations, and one ring that seized more than 200 kilograms, are not the same case. A charge against Raul Perez-Mondragon is an allegation.

Roland Chatmon and three others pleaded guilty in the kidnapping of his uncle, Curtis Dixon.
A guilty plea is the conviction on the counts a defendant admits. It is not the prison term. FOX 2 and the New York Post say the four kidnapping defendants face a mandatory minimum of seven years and a maximum of life, with hearings in 2027. WXYZ reported that all five, including Kenneth Anderson, face that range. FOX 2, CBS Detroit, and the Post say Anderson was already sentenced to probation.

An Ottawa jury found Fsha Tekhle guilty of first-degree murder in the stabbing of Brkti Berhe.
A first-degree murder verdict is the jury's finding on that count. CBC wrote that the conviction comes with automatic life sentences, plural, and no eligibility for parole for 25 years. The Ottawa Citizen described an automatic sentence of life without parole for 25 years. No eligibility for parole for 25 years, and life without parole for 25 years, are not the same words. Tekhle admitted causing the death and pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.
