TimesLIVE reported attorney Nadine Meintjies was shot dead at the Klipspruit West off-ramp.
TimesLIVE and IOL spell her Meintjies. News24 spells her Meintjes and prints her age as 30. TimesLIVE says she practiced at Dane von Branden Attorneys. Newsday's lede says she was from Spangenberg Attorneys. Lt-Col Isaac Mudau said both people in the Toyota Urban Cruiser were dead at the scene and that no one has been arrested.

Two counts of murder are the cases police say they opened. They are not an arrest. TimesLIVE's "gunmen," Newsday's "what looks like an assassination," and IOL's unknown motive are not the same account of why the shots were fired. A man in the passenger seat is in every account. None of these pages names him.
TimesLIVE, in a story by Kabungane Biyela published November 3, 2026, at 7:19 p.m., reported that Nadine Meintjies, 30, was one of two people killed when gunmen opened fire on a Toyota Urban Cruiser on the Klipspruit West off-ramp. The headline places the shooting in Eldorado Park. The body places it on that off-ramp. IOL, in a story by Kamogelo Moichela, reported police launched a double murder investigation after two people, including an attorney, were shot dead inside a vehicle at the Klipspruit West off-ramp in Johannesburg on Monday. IOL does not print Eldorado Park, a vehicle make, or an age. News24, by Noxolo Sibiya, reported Nadine Meintjes, 30, was shot dead alongside a male passenger near Eldorado Park on Monday. Meintjies and Meintjes are not the same spelling. Newsday reported that on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the South African Police Service confirmed it was investigating a double murder after Meintjies and a man were shot dead inside a Toyota Urban Cruiser at the Klipspruit West off-ramp on Monday, and that officers received a call reporting a shooting at the off-ramp on November 2. TimesLIVE and IOL print Monday and do not print November 2.
Lt-Col Isaac Mudau told TimesLIVE that police received a call about the shooting on Monday, and that on arrival they found a Toyota Urban Cruiser with bullet holes on the driver's door. He said two occupants, a woman in the driver's seat and a man in the passenger seat, were found inside, and that both were certified dead by emergency services. He said police are investigating two counts of murder and that no arrests have been made. IOL reported officers discovered the vehicle riddled with bullet holes in the driver's door, and it quoted police saying both occupants had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. IOL reported Mudau confirmed emergency services declared both victims dead at the scene, and that police have opened two counts of murder. Newsday reported several bullet holes in the driver's door, the same two seats, and that Mudau confirmed a case of two counts of murder with no arrests. Riddled, bullet holes, and several bullet holes are not the same description. Two counts, on TimesLIVE and IOL, and a case of two counts, on Newsday, are not the same case line. TimesLIVE's gunmen is TimesLIVE's word. IOL and Newsday do not print it.
TimesLIVE reported Meintjies was an attorney at Dane von Branden Attorneys and was reportedly involved in several cases in Johannesburg, including gang-related cases in Eldorado Park. It reported attorney Arno Spangenberg of Spangenberg Attorneys told the paper he knew her as a university student and as a colleague, and that she was not employed by or affiliated with his firm. IOL reported the female victim has been identified as attorney Nadine Meintjies, and that Spangenberg Attorneys Inc. conveyed condolences to the family. IOL does not print Dane von Branden. Newsday's lede says she was from Spangenberg Attorneys. The statement Newsday then quotes from that firm mourns a fellow legal practitioner and former university colleague, and says, "It is difficult to comprehend that someone we once shared lecture halls, ambitions and dreams with is no longer here." A former university colleague, on that statement and on TimesLIVE, is not the same relationship as Newsday's lede. News24's photograph is credited to Facebook/BDK Attorneys. That credit is not a sentence saying she worked there. IOL reported the motive remains unknown and that the identity of the male victim has not been established. Newsday reported the circumstances, including the motive and the identities of the victims, have not yet been established, on a page that also names her. An unnamed motive and a page that both names her and says the victims' identities are not established are not the same finding. Newsday's lede also says the killing "looks like an assassination." That is Newsday's characterization. It is not Mudau's. No page fetched here names a suspect. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

WJLA says Judge Neal Kravitz found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. NBC4 says he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
Voluntary manslaughter while armed, and voluntary manslaughter, and manslaughter, are not the same count.
