Shaniya Lewis and Nayonna Griffin were charged after an alleged assault on an off-duty officer at a St. Louis County QuikTrip.

First Alert 4 reported Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, that Shaniya Lewis and Nayonna Griffin, both 20, are each charged with second-degree assault and with resisting or interfering with arrest for a felony after an altercation about 2:30 a.m. at a QuikTrip in the 12100 block of Lusher Road. Yahoo News on Oct. 12 put the store at 12110 Lusher Road in Spanish Lake and described the assault count as second-degree assault of a special victim.

A charge is the accusation. First Alert 4's count title is second-degree assault. Yahoo News adds the words "of a special victim" and a street number the television story does not use. Both describe a $100,000 cash-only bond with no 10 percent option. Neither story names the officer.

First Alert 4 reported that Shaniya Lewis and Nayonna Griffin, both 20, are each being charged with one count of second-degree assault and one count of resisting or interfering with arrest for a felony. The station reported both are being held on a $100,000 cash-only, no-10 percent bond, and that the St. Louis County North Precinct is handling the investigation. Yahoo News reported St. Louis County prosecutors charged both women with second-degree assault of a special victim and with resisting or interfering with a felony arrest, and that both are being held at the St. Louis County Justice Center on separate $100,000 cash-only bonds, without a 10% option, according to police. First Alert 4 does not use the words "special victim," and it does not name the jail. Yahoo News does both. The bond figure is in each story.

First Alert 4 reported court documents state Lewis and Griffin got into an altercation with an officer at the QuikTrip on the 12100 block of Lusher Road at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. The station reported Griffin began throwing items at the officer, which caused the officer to approach her, and that Lewis stopped the officer, struggled with him, and threw him to the ground. It reported that, according to court records, Griffin stomped on the officer's head and Lewis punched him repeatedly while he was on the ground, and that during the struggle Lewis reached for the officer's gun but was unable to take it out of its holster. It reported that as police arrived and broke Griffin away from the officer, she continued grabbing his hair, flailing her body, kicking, trying to run, and holding her hands up and away from being handcuffed. Yahoo News reported the confrontation at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at the QuikTrip at 12110 Lusher Road in Spanish Lake. It attributed the same sequence to a St. Louis County Police Department statement provided to Guessing Headlights: items thrown, Lewis throwing the officer to the ground, repeated punches, a stomp to the head, a grab for the firearm that stayed in the holster, and Griffin grabbing hair, kicking, trying to run, and keeping her hands from officers trying to handcuff her. The 12100 block is First Alert 4's address. The number 12110 and Spanish Lake are Yahoo News.

First Alert 4 reported the officer was an off-duty Hillsdale Police Department officer working secondary at the gas station. It reported a Hillsdale officer said the officer was working for a security company, had minor injuries, was treated immediately, is recovering at home, and will return to work in the upcoming days. The same story reported the officer was taken to an area hospital with injuries. Yahoo News reported he was a Hillsdale officer working an off-duty assignment for a private security company, that his department said he suffered minor injuries and was recovering at home, and that Hillsdale later told First Alert 4 he was expected to return to work within days. A hospital trip and a Hillsdale description of minor injuries are both in First Alert 4. The officer's name is not in either story.

First Alert 4 reported the incident was caught on camera, that St. Louis County Police told the station they are aware of a video circulating online, and that the video has accumulated over 1.5 million views on Facebook. It reported a Hillsdale officer said there is additional video that St. Louis County Police are aware of. Yahoo News repeated that view count as First Alert 4's figure. Yahoo News also reported a separate July 4 incident at the same QuikTrip, involving different people. It said Brandon Green, 40, allegedly fired at his sister and nephew from a vehicle, an off-duty Riverview police officer intervened, Green allegedly fired toward that officer, the officer returned fire, nobody was injured, and prosecutors charged Green with multiple felonies including assault and armed criminal action, citing First Alert 4's reporting on a St. Louis County Police affidavit. That July case is not a charge against Lewis or Griffin. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Erie coroner Lyell Cook named the adults killed Friday on Perry Street.

Monday's list is an identification. Matthew Stone Sr. is dead, so these accounts leave no defendant to charge. Cook's homicide rulings say who died. They do not say why. Chief Rick Lorah told USA TODAY that mental health is at play and that it is too soon for a motive.

Federal agents searched Rep. Ilhan Omar's Washington-area home on Monday.

A search warrant is a judge's permission to look. It is not a criminal charge, and it is not a conviction. The department's public statement did not describe an allegation. Fox News, ABC News, and NPR have published accounts that tie the probe to immigration paperwork or to immigration-fraud allegations. Those accounts describe what sources say the file is about. They are not findings.

Marysville police arrested Samuel Hartbower after a Save Mart employee was killed.

Sunday's arrest is the accusation. CBS Sacramento reported the booking as suspicion of homicide and assault with a deadly weapon. KCRA described the same booking as charges of those offenses. A suspicion booking is not a conviction. Investigators told CBS Sacramento they do not believe Hartbower and the employee knew each other.
