Wednesday was an opening, not a verdict. The not-guilty pleas are what the Daily Mail reported each accused has entered. Two of the accused cannot be named, and they are not named here. The defence case had not been presented when that story was published. The trial is still going.

The Daily Mail reported Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, that prosecutors opened their case in the Supreme Court of Victoria against Ngor Agear, Myaker Myaker, and two other accused who cannot be named for legal reasons. The paper reported each has pleaded not guilty to murder. It reported Kon Hsu Sein, 18, was killed on Dec. 20, 2024, in Kurunjang, west of Melbourne, after a dispute between two groups. It reported crown prosecutor Erin Ramsay told the jury that Sein left his home in McBurnie Drive with two friends shortly after 7 p.m., and that less than 20 minutes later he was cornered in the driveway of a neighboring house. The two friends are not named here. The two accused who cannot be named are not named here. A not-guilty plea is the plea. It is not a finding.

The Daily Mail reported CCTV from neighboring properties was played to the jury. It reported the video showed a green Ford Falcon stop in Greenhills Drive, and that all four accused and another man got out, three of them carrying machetes. It reported the group ran into a laneway connecting Greenhills Drive with McBurnie Drive, where Sein and his two friends were walking, and that an associate of the accused who lived nearby is alleged to have come from the other end of the laneway. The other man and the associate are not named. The paper reported the two friends got away, one of them chased before both climbed a fence into a vacant lot, and that Sein was pursued into a driveway hidden from the surrounding cameras. It reported he could be heard shouting, "Back off, back off," as the group advanced. Those are the pictures and the words the paper said the jury was shown. They are the prosecution opening.

The Daily Mail reported Ramsay told the jury, "He was stabbed to death in that driveway," and that he was cut to the head and face with such force that his skull was fractured and his left hand was almost completely severed from his arm. It reported he was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:45 p.m. It reported the next images showed the alleged attackers coming out of the driveway less than a minute later, that one of the accused had been stabbed in the eye and another in the arm, and that the group returned to the Ford and drove to the Melton Health Hub. It reported neighbors who heard the disturbance climbed a fence and tried to help before police and paramedics arrived. The paper reported the defence had not yet been presented. An opening is the prosecution's account to the jury. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Nicole Virzi pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and was sentenced to 35 to 80 years.

Wednesday's plea is the conviction on those three counts, and the 35-to-80-year term is the sentence on the plea. A first-degree murder count is not the judgment. What she told detectives about shaking and dropping the infant is her recorded statement, as TribLive reported it. The parents' account of why they wanted a plea is what the prosecutor told the court.

Judge William Watson sentenced Charles Stokes to 14 years and 8 months to serve for shooting Heather Burrow.

Tuesday's terms are the sentence on a guilty plea to six felonies. The Courier-Record printed 74 years imposed, 58 years and 4 months suspended, and six terms that add to 73 years if the firearm count is the three-year mandatory minimum it listed. WTVR printed 74 years with all but 14 years and 8 months suspended. Both accounts leave 14 years and 8 months to serve.

Samuel Rocha was sentenced to 27 years to life for driving into bicyclists in Port Hueneme.

Tuesday's term is the sentence on an August guilty plea to second-degree murder and on the April jury convictions for assault and battery. The jury did not return a murder verdict. The office and the Los Angeles Times print the 16-year-old's name. This story does not, and it does not name the other minors who were hurt.
