Murder and conspiracy warrants a month after a body is found are the accusation, and they are not a finding that these three men killed the man who died. CBS13 and FOX40 do not name him and use Alfredo Garcia and Federico Farfan. The Sacramento Bee names Omar Alexander Suastegui-Velazquez, 24, and adds Morales and Ambriz to the surnames.
CBS13 Sacramento reported Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, that during the early morning of Sept. 6, deputies responded to the 3700 block of Lenore Way in North Highlands after a caller reported finding an adult male family member dead inside the home. The station reported that responding deputies ruled the death a homicide and that crime scene investigators and homicide detectives were called to the scene. FOX40, citing the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, reported the homicide was on the morning of Sept. 6 on that block, that the first call was about a family member dead inside a home, and that deputies determined the death was a homicide. The Sacramento Bee reported that on Sept. 6 deputies were called to a home in the 3700 block of Lenore Way, that a caller reported finding their brother dead inside, and that deputies determined Omar Alexander Suastegui-Velazquez, 24, of North Highlands, was a victim of a homicide. The block, the date, and a homicide ruling are in all three. The name, the age, and the word brother are the Bee's.
CBS13 reported Alfredo Garcia, 38, Federico Farfan, 45, and Hector Medina, 37, were arrested Thursday after detectives obtained warrants charging them with murder and conspiracy and searched six locations across Sacramento County, Modesto, and Tulare County. FOX40 identified 45-year-old Federico Farfan, 38-year-old Alfredo Garcia, and 37-year-old Hector Medina after what officials called an extensive investigation, and reported detectives obtained arrest warrants on murder and conspiracy charges. FOX40 reported that on Oct. 8 detectives executed search warrants at six locations throughout Sacramento, Modesto, and Tulare Counties, and that all three were located and taken into custody. The Bee reported detectives on Thursday arrested Alfredo Morales Garcia, 38, Federico Farfan Ambriz, 45, and Hector Medina, 37, that the detectives had identified them as suspects and obtained arrest warrants, and that on Thursday they served search warrants at six locations throughout Sacramento County, Modesto, and Tulare County. The Bee's lede describes the arrest as on suspicion of homicide and criminal conspiracy. CBS13 and FOX40 say murder and conspiracy. The ages match. The Bee is the account that adds Morales and Ambriz.
CBS13 reported the three were booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail and are ineligible for bail. The station reported that over the last month they were named as suspects, that it was not immediately clear whether they knew the victim, and that the sheriff's office has not released additional details about the victim or the circumstances of the killing. FOX40 reported they were booked into the Main Jail and are ineligible for bail. The Bee reported they were booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail and were being held Friday afternoon without bail, and that the Sheriff's Office has not released the manner of Suastegui-Velazquez's death or the suspected circumstances that might have led to it. A month of investigation and a no-bail jail booking are the public status. They are not a record of how he died. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.
WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.
The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.
A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
