An indictment means a grand jury found enough to send the case forward. It is not a finding of guilt. Police have said Satori did the stabbing, according to Hawaii News Now. The next step is arraignment, where he will be asked to enter a plea. Second-degree murder in Hawaii carries a maximum of life with the possibility of parole, the station reported.

An Oahu grand jury indicted Orion Satori, 47, on a charge of second-degree murder, the Honolulu Prosecutor announced Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, Hawaii News Now reported. The station reported Thursday, Oct. 22, that the man who died was identified as Kiril Stoimenov, 42.

The indictment stems from an incident Friday, Oct. 16, on Young Street near the Ward area of Honolulu, where Satori allegedly stabbed Stoimenov, Hawaii News Now reported. Police said the stabbing happened at a home on Young Street at about 8:20 p.m., the station reported.

Satori is being held without bail at the Oahu Community Correctional Center, Hawaii News Now reported. Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Benjamin Rose is handling the case. The station reported that second-degree murder carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment with the possibility of parole.

Hawaii News Now did not report a motive, whether the two men knew each other, or the name of Satori's attorney. The indictment is a charging document. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff's officials named Edward Villa as the suspect after Katie Kinder, her son and her mother were found shot to death in Happy Valley.

Thursday's briefing names the three people and names Villa as the only suspect. The warrant was three counts of first-degree murder. He was found dead before an arrest. KPTV, citing Warrenton police, called it an apparent self-inflicted gunshot. KGW reported Detective Matt Lysaght would not go past a gunshot deputies heard, a firearm in the room, and the fact that no officer fired. KPTV and OPB call the motel the South Jetty Inn. The Oregonian calls it the South Jetty Motel.

The New York Post reported Suk Kuen Wong was charged with murder in the death of her son, Bryan Wong.

Thursday's murder count is what the New York Post said police reported. It is the accusation. Last week's accounts from ABC7, Gothamist, QNS and PIX11 still had the case as a homicide investigation with no arrest. The Post put her age at 61 on Oct. 15 and at 62 on Thursday. Gothamist and QNS used 62. No outlet has reported a plea, and the Post said no arraignment date had been set.
