CTV News Ottawa says the counts concern storage and ownership of his guns after a confrontation that left two suspected intruders dead. The Citizen and the Standard-Freeholder itemize firearm counts and do not print a homicide count against Ozric Blanchard. CityNews says officials told the station he lived in the invaded home. The Citizen calls him the fourth individual charged in connection with the invasion and does not print that he lived there. A storage count is not a finding about who fired. Prohibited or restricted firearm, and prohibited device or firearm, are not the same charge name.
CTV News Ottawa, by Ted Raymond, published November 4, 2026, at 1:17 p.m. EST, reported Ontario Provincial Police say a resident of an eastern Ontario home that was broken into in early 2025, leading to a confrontation that left two suspected intruders dead, is facing charges related to the storage and ownership of his guns. It reported the incident was at a home on Old Highway 2 in South Glengarry on Feb. 2, 2025, that police say three people attempted to break into the home and two of them were shot and killed, and that the third person escaped. It reported police identified the deceased as Eddie Alobhouet, 19, and Tristan Simard, 18, both residents of Saint-Jérôme, Que. It reported the two residents of the home were not injured, that several items, including guns, were seized, that the residents were taken into custody at the time but were later released unconditionally, and that police believe the incident was targeted. It reported that on Wednesday the OPP said one man was arrested on Oct. 29, that police confirmed to CTV News Ottawa he was a resident of the home, and that Ozric Blanchard, 31, of South Glengarry, is charged with four counts of careless storage of a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, and other counts related to unauthorized possession. Other counts is not a list. It reported he was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on Dec. 2. The Ottawa Citizen, by a staff reporter, published Nov. 4, 2026, with an update line that did not print a clock, reported a 31-year-old man from South Glengarry has become the fourth individual charged in connection with a February 2025 home invasion that left two other people dead. Fourth individual charged in connection with the invasion, on that page, and a resident of the home, on CTV, are not the same description. The Citizen does not print that Blanchard lived in the home. It reported the OPP announced weapons charges against him on Nov. 4. Weapons charges, and charges related to the storage and ownership of his guns, are not the same phrase. It reported he was released from custody and scheduled to appear in court at Alexandria on Dec. 2, and that the OPP said so in its news release. Court at Alexandria, and the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria, are not the same court name. The Citizen does not print Oct. 29. The Standard-Freeholder, by Hugo Rodrigues, November 4, 2026, at 2:16 p.m., with no zone printed and a Bainsville dateline, reported a fourth person is now facing charges from the investigation into a fatal home invasion on Feb. 2, 2025, and that details on the charges laid against fourth person arrested on Oct. 29 were released Wednesday. The phrase as printed does not put "the" or "a" before fourth person. It reported he was released from police custody to appear in Alexandria court on Dec. 2. Alexandria court, and the Ontario Court of Justice, are not the same name. CityNews Ottawa, by Natasha O'Neill, posted Nov. 4, 2026, at 12:59:19 p.m., with no zone printed, reported a resident of the South Glengarry home that was invaded by a trio in 2025 is facing charges after two were killed. It reported officials detailed to CityNews that Blanchard is a resident of the home that was invaded that winter evening. Detailed to CityNews, and confirmed to CTV News Ottawa, are not the same attribution. It reported they were released from custody and are expected in court on Dec. 2. They, for one accused, is the pronoun on that page. CityNews does not print Alexandria or Oct. 29. Cornwall Newswatch, on November 4, 2026, headlined a story "Fourth person charged in South Glengarry home invasion." The body was behind a subscriber wall and was not used.
The itemized counts are not one list. The Citizen reported four counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition; two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm; possession of a prohibited device or ammunition; two counts of knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm; knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm; and two counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo. The two knowledge counts, as printed, drop the article "a" before firearm. The single knowledge count puts "a" back and does not print the word licence. CityNews printed the same shape with section numbers: careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, section 86(1), four counts; unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, section 91(1), two counts; possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, section 92(2); knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, section 92(1), two counts; knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, then an en dash and the word licence, section 92(1); and possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo, section 95(1), two counts. Licence is CityNews. It is not in the Citizen's list. With ammo is both. The Standard-Freeholder reported two counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition; four counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition; two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited device or firearm; possession of prohibited device or ammunition; two counts of knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm; and knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, then an em dash and the word licence. With ammunition, and with ammo, are not the same word. A comma before "or ammunition," on that page, is not in the Citizen's careless-storage line. Prohibited device or firearm, on the Standard-Freeholder, and prohibited or restricted firearm, on the Citizen, CityNews, and CTV, are not the same charge name. An em dash before licence, and an en dash before licence, are not the same mark. CTV's "four counts of careless storage of a firearm" does not print weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition in that line, and its "other counts related to unauthorized possession" does not print the section numbers or the licence count. None of these lists prints a count for the deaths.
The February night is not one account. CTV reported three people attempted to break into the home, two were shot and killed, and the third escaped. The Citizen reported officers with the OPP's Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry detachment, which it abbreviates SD&G, responded to an incident that began as a home invasion at a residence on Old Highway 2, that two people with gunshot wounds were pronounced deceased, and that a previous OPP release identified them as Eddie Alobhouet, 19, and Tristan Simard, 18, both of St-Jérôme, Que. Saint-Jérôme, on CTV, and St-Jérôme, on the Citizen, are not the same fullness. Shot and killed, and pronounced deceased from gunshot wounds, are not the same sentence. Suspected intruders, on CTV, is not a phrase the Citizen prints. The Citizen's dek calls them a pair of men in their late teens. The CityNews headline says the home invasion left teens dead, and the story says two teens suffered gunshot wounds. The ages on those pages are 19 and 18. Teens, and the ages 19 and 18, are both on CityNews. It reported the deadly incident happened Feb. 2, 2025, at around 9:00 p.m., at a house on Old Highway 2. Around 9:00 p.m. is CityNews. CTV, the Citizen, and the Standard-Freeholder do not print a clock for that night. CityNews reported Alobhouet and Simard, both residents of St. Jerome, Que., were killed by apparent gunshots. St. Jerome, with a period and no accents, and St-Jérôme, are not the same spelling. Apparent gunshots, and shot and killed, are not the same phrase. It reported police detailed that Alobhouet, Simard, and Michael Cloutier, who is also facing charges, were forcing their way into the residence, and that the OPP said Cloutier was the person who ran from the scene and was later arrested. Forcing their way, and attempted to break into, are not the same verb. Ran, and escaped, and fled, are not the same verb. The Citizen reported a third individual fled the scene before police arrived, and that the residents of the home were uninjured. It does not print Cloutier's name in that flight sentence. The Standard-Freeholder, which abbreviates the detachment SDG rather than SD&G, reported two people who'd suffered fatal gunshot wounds were found, a third person had fled the area, and the home's residents were uninjured. Fatal gunshot wounds, and pronounced deceased, are not the same line. It does not print the names Alobhouet or Simard. CTV reported the residents were taken into custody at the time and later released unconditionally, and that police believe the incident was targeted. Unconditionally, and targeted, and guns seized from the home, are CTV. They are not on the Citizen, the Standard-Freeholder, or CityNews. The other resident is not named on any of these pages.
The earlier accused are a different charging announcement. CTV reported that on Oct. 22 the OPP announced charges against three people connected with the incident, including the person who had fled, and it did not print their names. The Standard-Freeholder reported that on Oct. 21 the OPP released information on charges against three people from Quebec, one of whom was the third individual police alleged had fled. Oct. 21, and Oct. 22, are not the same day. The Citizen reported that between August and October 2026 the OPP announced charges against three Quebec residents: Marc André DeMontigny-Defoy of Coteau-du-Lac, Michael Cloutier of Valleyfield, and Stephanie Pigeon of St-Jérôme. Between August and October is not Oct. 21 and it is not Oct. 22. CityNews reported Stephanie Pigeon, 34, of St-Jérôme, Qué., and Marc André DeMontigny-Defoy, 36, of Coteau-du-Lac, Qué., are also facing offences, and that police said they are not residents of the home. Ages 34 and 36, and Qué., are CityNews. The Citizen does not print those ages. CityNews does not print Valleyfield. It does not print Cloutier's age or town. The Citizen reported DeMontigny-Defoy was charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence; break and enter of a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; break and enter with intent to steal a firearm; committing a robbery to steal a firearm; unauthorized possession of a firearm; knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm; armed robbery; and possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order. It reported Cloutier was charged with those counts and, in addition, disguise with intent. It reported Pigeon was charged with accessory after the fact to commit an indictable offence and obstructing justice. Those count names are the Citizen. CityNews, CTV, and the Standard-Freeholder do not print them. The Citizen reported the investigation remains ongoing by the SD&G Crime Unit, and that South Glengarry is about 110 kilometres southeast of Ottawa. The Standard-Freeholder reported the SDG OPP crime unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP criminal investigation branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, and that the Quebec provincial police, the Saint-Jerôme police service, and OPP Forensic Identification Services have assisted. Saint-Jerôme, with no acute accent on the first e, is that page. Saint-Jérôme, with the acute accent, is CTV. It reported anyone with information can call 1-888-310-1122. CTV reported the same number and said to contact the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP. The Citizen does not print the number, the coroner, or the pathology service. None of these pages prints a self-defense ruling, a plea, or a sentence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

WJLA says Judge Neal Kravitz found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. NBC4 says he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
