Jurkovec is charged with taking a hospital valet box truck.

Jurkovec was arrested Friday and charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property in a Wexford and Cranberry Township case involving a hospital valet box truck. He is held on $25,000 bail, and these are accusations only.

A booking and two theft captions are accusations, not a conviction. A GPS stop and a hospital-valet narrative are investigation claims the Commonwealth still has to prove. Former Pitt quarterback Phil Jurkovec, 26, who also played at Notre Dame and Boston College, was arrested Friday after police said he stole a box truck from the valet garage at Allegheny Health Network’s Wexford Hospital on Route 19. Reporting on the arrest is dated Monday, Sept. 21, 2026. He is charged with one count of theft by unlawful taking and one count of receiving stolen property. Two captions on a charging paper are how a theft file starts. They are not a finding that either count was proved.

Police said a rental-company employee was loading tables and chairs from a function into the truck when it was taken. Investigators said GPS tracking led Cranberry Township officers to stop the truck and identify Jurkovec as the driver. That is the working police narrative. A victim statement, a tracker ping, and a roadside ID are evidence the Commonwealth may offer. They are not a verdict, and they are not a court finding that a taking or receiving was proved.

Online court records, as reported, put bail at $25,000. He was unable to post and is being held in the Allegheny County Jail, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for the end of the month. Bail, a hold, and a calendar date are process. They are not a guilty plea. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.

WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.

The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.

A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
