Prosecutors charged a Philadelphia foster mother with murder after a 10-year-old foster child was found dead in Lindenwold.

NBC10 Philadelphia reported Nov. 5, 2026, that Carprice Williams, 36, was charged with murder and six related counts after a 10-year-old foster child was found in a car trunk in Lindenwold, New Jersey. The Philadelphia Tribune uses that spelling. WHYY prints Caprice. FOX 29 prints both on one page. The child is not named in this account.

Carprice, on NBC10, the Philadelphia Tribune, and a FOX 29 subhead, and Caprice, on WHYY and in FOX 29's brief and body, are not the same spelling. No charging document was retrieved to settle it. Murder, and homicide, are not the same word on FOX 29's page. Blunt force trauma, and beaten to death, are not the same cause line. Around 11 p.m. Wednesday, 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday morning, and overnight are not the same clock. Trunk, and truck, are not the same word. The child is not named.

NBC10 Philadelphia, by Cherise Lynch, Aaron Baskerville, and David Chang, published November 5, 2026, reported the foster mother of a 10-year-old girl from West Philadelphia, found dead in a car in New Jersey, has been charged in the child's death. It spells the foster mother's name Carprice Williams and reports she is 36. It reported she is charged with murder, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal use of a communication facility, possession of an instrument of crime, reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence, and abuse of corpse. It reported Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner made the announcement at a press conference on Thursday, Nov. 5. It reported investigators say the child was last seen alive on Oct. 22 at a home along the 500 block of North Simpson Street in West Philadelphia, and was then reported missing. It quoted Assistant District Attorney Ashley Toczylowski: "The last time we believe she was seen alive was Thursday, Oct. 22," and, "And that would be at her home. We believe that she remained there until she was removed from the home." It reported the disappearance investigation involved Philadelphia police, the FBI, and the Camden County Prosecutor's Office. It reported that on Wednesday, Nov. 4, police focused on a field in West Philadelphia and found only the body of an animal, and that surveillance video obtained later that night showed the child's body being removed from the home on North Simpson Street on Monday, Oct. 26, shortly before 2 a.m. Showed the child's body, as NBC10 reports officials said it, is one level of certainty. It reported that video led officials to a vehicle and a driver, that the FBI and Philadelphia police spoke with the driver, and that the driver led them to the child. It reported they found the child's body in the trunk of a car around 11 p.m. Wednesday in Lindenwold, New Jersey. It reported the New Jersey Medical Examiner determined the child died from blunt force trauma and ruled the death a homicide. It quoted Toczylowski: "It was immediately apparent that she had been there for a while." It reported officials did not go into detail on what led to the death, that they revealed there was an indication the child was physically abused, and that they did not reveal whether anyone else will be charged. It reported that before the arrest, NBC10 tried to speak with Williams as she left the North Simpson Street home on Wednesday, and that she covered her face with a blanket and had no comment. The child is not named in this account.

The Philadelphia Tribune, by Johann Calhoun, on Nov. 5, 2026, spells the name Carprice Williams, 36, and reported she was charged with murder, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal use of a communication facility, possession of an instrument of crime, recklessly endangering another person, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse. Recklessly endangering another person, on the Tribune, and reckless endangerment, on NBC10, are not the same charge name. Abuse of a corpse, and abuse of corpse, are not the same wording. It reported Krasner said Williams has no criminal record. No criminal record is on the Tribune. It is not in the NBC10 sentences retrieved. It reported he pledged a "just and vigorous prosecution" and said the investigation remains active. It reported Toczylowski said investigators believe the child was last seen alive Oct. 22 at her home, and that authorities recovered surveillance video showing what they believe was her body being removed from the residence shortly before 2 a.m. Oct. 26. What they believe was her body, on the Tribune, and the video showed the child's body, on NBC10, are not the same certainty. It reported evidence indicated the body was removed from the home in one vehicle before being transferred to another vehicle, where it was eventually found, and that officials declined to identify key witnesses or discuss whether additional charges could be filed. One vehicle and then another is on the Tribune. It is not in the NBC10 sentences retrieved. Declined to discuss whether additional charges could be filed, and did not reveal whether anyone else will be charged, are not the same sentence. The Tribune does not print Lindenwold, a trunk, a clock for when the body was found, or blunt force trauma in the sentences retrieved. It reported a relative asked for time and privacy. The relative is not given a role that requires the child's name here.

FOX 29, by Dan O'Mara, Kelly Rule, and FOX 29 staff, published November 5, 2026, at 1:17 p.m. EST and updated at 7:45 p.m. EST, uses both spellings on one page. The brief says Caprice Williams, a foster parent, was charged Thursday with homicide and other crimes. A subhead spells the name Carprice Williams. The body says Krasner announced that 36-year-old Caprice Williams had been charged with the child's murder. Homicide and other crimes, in the brief, and murder, in the body, are not the same charge word, and they are on the same page. Caprice, and Carprice, are not the same spelling, and they are on the same page. It reported law enforcement sources told Kelly Rule the body was found in the truck of a vehicle at an apartment complex in Lindenwold on Wednesday night. Truck, on that sentence, and trunk, in the headline and elsewhere on the page, are not the same word. Wednesday night, on FOX 29, and around 11 p.m. Wednesday, on NBC10, are not the same clock. Camden County, in the updated lede, and Lindenwold, in the source sentence, are not the same geography line. A nested summary on the same page still says one person is in custody and being interviewed and that charges were expected at a 5:30 p.m. press conference. Expected at 5:30 p.m., and a 7:45 p.m. update that says charges were announced, are not the same status. It reported the child was last seen on the 500 block of North Simpson Street, where she lived with her foster mother, that police say she went to school on Thursday, Oct. 22, and was seen coming home that day, that she did not attend school the next day, and that she was reported missing on Monday, Oct. 26. Went to school and was seen coming home, on FOX 29, and last seen at her home, on NBC10 and the Tribune, are not the same last-seen line. Did not attend the next day, and reported missing Monday, Oct. 26, are on FOX 29. NBC10 says she was then reported missing and does not print Oct. 26 as the report date. FOX 29's press-conference description says Krasner was joined by Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel. The description uses the station's words brutal murder for the announcement. That is not a verdict. WHYY, by Cory Sharber, on November 5, 2026, spells the name Caprice Williams, 36, and reported she is facing multiple felony charges, including murder, endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse. Including, on that list, does not say the list is complete. Criminal use of a communication facility, and possession of an instrument of crime, are on NBC10 and the Tribune. They are not on WHYY's list. It reported the body was found in a car overnight at the Stonington Court Apartments in Camden County, New Jersey. Overnight, and around 11 p.m. Wednesday, are not the same clock. In a car, and in the trunk, are not the same place in the vehicle. Stonington Court Apartments is on WHYY. It is not on NBC10 or the Tribune sentences retrieved. It reported Krasner said there will be a "just and … vigorous prosecution," with an ellipsis in the quotation as the page prints it. A quotation with an ellipsis, and "just and vigorous prosecution" with no ellipsis on the Tribune, are not the same quotation. It reported investigators said video evidence showed her body being removed from the home in the 500 block of North Simpson Street just before 2 a.m. on Oct. 2. Oct. 2, on WHYY, and Oct. 26, on NBC10, the Tribune, and FOX 29, are not the same date. It reported the body was transported in a separate vehicle from the one she was discovered in, and that an initial autopsy showed the cause of death as blunt force trauma. An initial autopsy, on WHYY, and the New Jersey Medical Examiner, on NBC10, are not the same attribution. WHYY's blunt-force sentence does not print the word homicide.

CBS Philadelphia, in the sentences retrieved after the full page timed out, updated November 5, 2026, at 7:24 p.m. EST, spells the name Carprice Williams and reported prosecutors said during a Thursday night press conference that she has been charged with murder. The retrieved sentences do not print an age and do not print the six related counts. It reported the body was found inside a car Thursday morning in New Jersey, and, in another sentence, Thursday morning in Camden County. It also reported police located the body around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, in the trunk of a car near the Stonington Court Apartments in Lindenwold. Thursday morning, and around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, are not the same clock, and they are in the sentences retrieved from the same story. Around 11:30 p.m., and around 11 p.m., are not the same clock. It reported investigators said the child was last seen alive on Oct. 22 and was not reported missing until four days later. Four days later is not a printed date. Monday, Oct. 26, is FOX 29's date. It reported the next sentence says they said Williams had beaten the child to death. Beaten to death, on CBS Philadelphia, and blunt force trauma, on NBC10 and WHYY, are not the same cause line. The page's "they" is not given a name in that sentence. It reported surveillance video appears to show what is believed to be a body being removed from the home on the 500 block of North Simpson Street shortly before 2 a.m. Monday. What is believed to be a body, on CBS Philadelphia, what they believe was her body, on the Tribune, and the video showed the child's body, on NBC10, are not the same certainty. It reported a suspect vehicle was developed, an individual was interviewed, and that unidentified person provided the location. An unidentified person, on CBS Philadelphia, and a driver, on NBC10, are not the same description. It reported family members said the foster mother told relatives the child had gone to the biological mother's home, and that those family members said the biological mother did not have visitation and the child was not there. The biological mother is not named. It reported investigators searched a backyard dumpster in Lower Merion Township on Tuesday night, and that the FBI went to the foster mother's home on North Simpson Street Tuesday night with a search warrant and forced entry after no one answered. The dumpster search and the forced entry are in the CBS Philadelphia sentences. They are not in the NBC10 or Tribune sentences retrieved. It reported sources said Williams is a teacher at Cassidy Elementary School in Philadelphia, and that the station had not heard back from the school district. A manner-of-death ruling is not a criminal verdict. The charge is the charge. A charge is not a conviction. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

WJLA says Judge Neal Kravitz found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. NBC4 says he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
