Thursday is an arraignment on an indictment and a not-guilty plea. The age is not one number, and the clock is not one clock. Daily Voice used 32 and put the stabbing at about 7:30 a.m. The Yonkers Times used 31 and put the police call at about 7:45 a.m. Mid Hudson News used 21. The next date Daily Voice reported is Dec. 10.

Daily Voice reported that Yonkers resident Rami Ahmad was arraigned Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, before Westchester County Court Judge George Fufidio in the killing of his father, Hekmat Ahmad, 61. The outlet, citing Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace, reported he was indicted on second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, that he pleaded not guilty, and that he remains remanded to the Westchester County Jail. Daily Voice listed him as 32. It reported the stabbing was Monday, Sept. 28, around 7:30 a.m., inside the family's home on Smart Avenue in Yonkers, and that prosecutors said he stabbed his father multiple times in the chest, abdomen, and right shoulder before fleeing. Daily Voice reported police and EMS found Hekmat Ahmad with apparent stab wounds, that first responders performed CPR, and that he was pronounced dead at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

The Yonkers Times, on Sept. 29, reported the call to 102 Smart Avenue at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Sept. 28, and listed Rami Ahmad as 31. The paper reported officers found an adult man with apparent stab wounds, that he was taken to Westchester Medical Center and pronounced dead, and that he was identified as Hekmat Ahmad, 61. It reported investigators determined a family member, Rami Ahmad, had attacked him inside the residence and left before police arrived. Daily Voice and the Yonkers Times both reported detectives found him at about 11:13 a.m. near Palmer Road and Kingston Avenue, less than a mile from the home, after a search that used cameras along the South County Trail, and that he was arrested without incident. Both reported a folding knife was recovered from him. Daily Voice attributed the knife to what police said at the time of the arrest. The "right" shoulder is Daily Voice's account of what prosecutors told the court. The Yonkers Times did not list the wound sites. Mid Hudson News, on Friday, Oct. 23, reported the grand-jury indictment and an arraignment, spelled the name Ahmad, and listed him as 21. It reported he stabbed his father several times in the chest, abdomen, and shoulder. It did not print a plea, a judge's name, or a next date.

Daily Voice reported he is scheduled to return to court on Dec. 10, 2026. The Yonkers Times reported that on the day after the arrest he had been charged with second-degree murder and that the Westchester County District Attorney's Office was prosecuting the case. Thursday's indictment and the not-guilty plea are what Daily Voice reported from the district attorney. The three ages are what those three outlets printed. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Testimony resumed Friday in Matthew Farwell's federal trial in the killing of Sandra Birchmore.

Friday is testimony. Boston 25 News reported the defense says Birchmore died by suicide after Farwell went to her apartment to end their relationship. NBC Boston reported a crime-lab witness said DNA testing of a ligature was inclusive of Farwell and of Birchmore. Inclusive is a comparison. It is not a finding that the strap carried only his DNA, and it is not a verdict.

A New Mexico judge dismissed the indictment against Timothy Busfield over how the grand jury was run.

Friday's order ends this indictment, and it is not a jury verdict on the accusations. Montano found the prosecution did not run the grand jury fairly, including by keeping requested witnesses out. The Journal reported the district attorney's office is still deciding whether to file again, and a new case would start over.

A Mobile County jury found Anthony MacPherson guilty of manslaughter in the Thanksgiving 2020 shooting of Tavon Holder.

Murder is the count the jury did not return. Manslaughter and distribution are the guilty findings. Dec. 14 is the date set for sentencing, and no term has been imposed. The sale, the gun, the struggle and the two shots are the trial account NBC 15 and FOX10 News published. A 2020 Mobile police release described the call as one shot.
