A prison sentence after conviction is the court's judgment on the counts that were admitted or found. It is not a new accusation, and it is not a jury trial redo. On Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, Raul Torres-Cruz was sentenced to a combined 8 to 20 years (voluntary manslaughter plus a consecutive deadly-weapons enhancement) and Juan Anguiano to a combined 14 to 40 years (second-degree murder plus a consecutive deadly-weapons enhancement) in the Dec. 11, 2022 Sparks shooting that killed Joel Undercoffer, 21. Those terms are the judgment. They are not open charges.
Sparks police responded just after 9 p.m. on Dec. 11, 2022, to a shooting near El Rancho Drive. Undercoffer was found with at least one gunshot wound and later died at a hospital. Investigators said the men planned to rob him and the robbery turned deadly.
Reporting from NBC News 4 Reno and KOLO puts Torres-Cruz at 4–10 years for voluntary manslaughter plus 4–10 for a deadly-weapons enhancement, consecutive, for a total of 8–20 years with parole eligibility after a minimum of 8 years. Anguiano received 10–25 for second-degree murder plus 4–15 for the weapons enhancement, consecutive, for a total of 14–40 years with parole eligibility after a minimum of 14 years.
Marc Delgado, a third man arrested in the case, is scheduled for sentencing on Oct. 13, 2026. That date is a calendar setting for him. It is not a sentence for Torres-Cruz or Anguiano.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.
WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.
The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.
A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
