1555 Florence Boulevard, and the 1500 block, are not the same address line. About 3:00 p.m., 3 p.m., around 3 p.m., and a 911 call at 3:04 p.m., are not the same clock. On scene, and transported, are not the same care. A gunshot wound, and an injury, are not the same word. Murder and Felony Reckless Endangerment, and murder and reckless endangerment, are not the same charge line. A charge is not a conviction.

Quad Cities Daily, by Staff, published Nov. 8, 2026, with no clock on the byline, printed a Florence Police release. It says that on Nov. 7, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Patrol Shift Day A officers responded 1555 Florence Boulevard, Black Light Smoke Shop, in regards to a shooting. The release does not print the word to between responded and the address. It says that when officers arrived, a suspect was taken into custody and two victims were identified. One victim, later identified as Joshua Darren McClain, 39, of Florence, Alabama, is deceased. The second victim received medical attention on scene for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The release does not name that person. It identifies the suspect as Rayshon Isaiah Thompson, 28, of Florence, Alabama. It says detectives developed probable cause to arrest him for Murder and Felony Reckless Endangerment, and that he is confined at the Lauderdale County Detention Center without a bond pending an Aniah's Law hearing. The sign-off is Media Release, Joshua Meza, public information officer, Florence Police Department. Non-life threatening, without the hyphen, is the release. Without a bond, with the article, is the release. Murder and Felony Reckless Endangerment are capitalized on that page.

AL.com, by Carol Robinson, published Nov. 7, 2026, at 8:23 p.m. and updated at 8:56 p.m., with no zone on those stamps, reported officers were dispatched at 3 p.m. Saturday to Black Light Smoke Shop in the 1500 block of Florence Boulevard. It says they found 39-year-old Joshua Darren McClain dead and a second victim with a non-life-threatening injury. It says details surrounding the shooting have not been released. It says Thompson, 28, was taken into custody at the scene on charges of murder and reckless endangerment, and that he is held without bond in the Lauderdale County Detention Center pending an Aniah's Law hearing. The 1500 block, and 1555 Florence Boulevard, are not the same address line. 3 p.m., and approximately 3:00 p.m., are not the same precision. Dead, and is deceased, are not the same wording. A non-life-threatening injury, and a non-life threatening gunshot wound, are not the same injury line. Of Florence, Alabama, is the release. AL.com does not print a city of residence for either man in the sentences that were read. Murder and reckless endangerment, lowercase, and without the word felony, are AL.com. Without bond, and without a bond, are not the same phrase. Taken into custody at the scene, and a suspect taken into custody when officers arrived, are close and are not the same sentence. Rocket City Now, by Alek Jenkins, published at 3:43 p.m. CST on Nov. 7 and updated at 11:21 p.m. CST, reported in the update that officers responded around 3 p.m. to a shooting at 1555 Florence Boulevard near the Black Light Smoke Shop. Near, and the release's address at the shop, are not the same place word. It says 39-year-old Joshua Darren McClain of Florence died, that the second victim received medical attention at the scene for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, and that detectives developed probable cause to arrest 28-year-old Rayshon Isaiah Thompson of Florence. Of Florence, and of Florence, Alabama, are not the same line. It says he is charged with murder and felony reckless endangerment and is held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center without bond pending an Aniah's Law hearing. Felony reckless endangerment, lowercase, and Felony Reckless Endangerment, capitalized, are not the same type. The update says the investigation remains ongoing. The release does not print that sentence.

The earlier version is still on the Rocket City Now page, under the update. It says Florence police received a 911 call at 3:04 p.m. about a shooting near the Black Light Smoke Shop on the 1500 block of Florence Boulevard. 3:04 p.m., and around 3 p.m., and approximately 3:00 p.m., are not the same clock. It says one victim died and another was transported for non-life-threatening injuries. Transported, in that earlier version, and medical attention on scene, in the update and in the release, are not the same care. It says it was not clear if a suspect was in custody. The update names Thompson in custody. It says the public should avoid the 1500 block, that the shop is in a shopping center, that it was not immediately clear how many people were hurt, and that first responders were also working a vehicle crash at the edge of the plaza, though it was not known if that crash was related. The crash, the shopping center, and the avoid-the-area line are not in the release, and they are not on AL.com. The headline calls it a vape shop and a vape store. The release and AL.com say Black Light Smoke Shop. A vape shop, and a smoke shop, are not the same name. Times Daily, by Kevin Taylor, city editor, Nov. 8, 2026, with a line that read 8 hrs ago and did not print a clock, could be read only through the opening. That opening says a 28-year-old Florence man is facing a murder charge related to the shooting death of a 39-year-old Florence man Saturday afternoon at the Black Light Smoke Shop on the 1500 block of Florence Boulevard. It does not print the names in that sentence. The rest of the story said a browser script was required for premium content and was not read. A caption by Dan Busey says the fatal shooting was inside the shop. Inside, on that caption, and near, on Rocket City Now, are not the same word. No page read here names the second person, prints a plea, or sets a date for the Aniah's Law hearing. A charge is not a conviction. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

WJLA says Judge Neal Kravitz found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. NBC4 says he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Voluntary manslaughter while armed, and voluntary manslaughter, and manslaughter, are not the same count. A bench outside Father O'Connell Hall, and a park on the campus, and a small plaza by that hall, and the 600 block of Alumni Lane, are not the same place. Brookland-CUA Metro, and Brookland Metro, and Brookland-Catholic University Metro, are not the same station line. Snapchat messages, and a message, and an urgent message, are not the same account. Cash App, and cash app, and $300 with no app named, are not the same line. Judge Kravitz accepted the plea and found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. A 12-to-15-year range is not the sentence. Sentencing has not happened.
