Roberts, known as Rick Ross, was booked in Miami-Dade on felony battery by strangulation and misdemeanor battery.

A jail booking and an arrest affidavit are accusations, not a conviction. Reporting says he is 50. He voluntarily surrendered to Miami Beach Police on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, and was booked at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center at 6:10 a.m. on felony battery by strangulation and misdemeanor battery, counts that reporting describes as domestic-violence related. CBS Miami reported that Judge Mindy Glazer found probable cause at a Zoom bond hearing that morning and set bond at $4,000 on the felony and $1,000 on the misdemeanor, $5,000 in all.

CBS Miami's summary of the arrest affidavit places the alleged incident on Aug. 28, 2026, at his Star Island residence in Miami Beach, and says it was reported to police on Sept. 29. The affidavit, as that summary recounts it, alleges he woke a woman around 7:44 a.m. angry about an Instagram tag and slapped her face. It alleges that later he struck her chest and restricted her breathing by grabbing the collar of her hoodie, then grabbed her ponytail, slammed her against a wall, and struck her face, busting her lip. It alleges he pushed her to the floor and attempted to spray her with a shower head. Those are affidavit allegations. They are not findings.

CBS Miami reported that the woman provided a sworn statement and timestamped photographs of injuries, and that investigators reviewed surveillance from the residence that showed a friend arriving and being turned away. A sworn statement, photos in an investigative file, and surveillance are evidence the State may offer. They are not a verdict. The court identified the alleged victim by initials.

Judge Glazer also issued a stay-away order, ordered Roberts to surrender firearms and not possess firearms, and ordered no contact with the alleged victim. Arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 22. A bond, a stay-away order, and a court date are process. They are not guilt.

Attorney Bradley Horenstein told CBS Miami that the allegations are false, that his client is innocent, and that the public should not rush to judgment. Lawyers Steve Sadow and Bradley Horenstein told TMZ that Roberts is wrongfully accused, that he has pled not guilty, and that an ex filed a report a month later. Those are defense statements. A not-guilty plea is a plea. It is not a dismissal, and it is not a finding that the affidavit is true or false. Roberts is presumed innocent unless and until a court finds otherwise.
