Friday's terms are the sentence on the jury's guilty verdicts. The outlets do not use the same word for the relationship, and they do not describe the same objects in the room. The sheriff's April release did not name Jessica Keenan. The later stories did.

NEWS10 reported Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, that Ronald Guilder Jr., 45, was sentenced Friday to 25 years to life. Friday was Oct. 23. NEWS10 reported the Washington County District Attorney's Office said the sentence followed a jury's guilty verdicts, after a seven-day trial, for second-degree murder, first-degree strangulation, and tampering with physical evidence in the death of Jessica Keenan, 41. The station reported the office also said he received a concurrent 15 years on the strangulation count and a concurrent 1 1/3 to four years on the tampering count. Newport Dispatch, in a Sept. 21 story, reported those three counts as murder in the second degree, a Class A-1 felony, strangulation in the first degree, a Class C felony, and tampering with physical evidence, a Class E felony, and it reported sentencing was scheduled for Oct. 23. CBS6 Albany reported that date as the expected sentencing day. The September stories set the date. NEWS10 reported the terms imposed on it.

CBS6 Albany published a statement from Washington County Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy saying the jury found Guilder guilty after a seven-day trial. In the same story the station once spelled the last name Guiler. WNYT reported the trial had been underway since Sept. 14 and that the jury deliberated a couple of hours before finding him guilty of murder, strangulation, and tampering with evidence. WNYT called Keenan his girlfriend and reported prosecutors said she was killed April 12, 2026, in the home she shared with him at Kingswood Village Apartments in Kingsbury. NEWS10 called her his ex-girlfriend. CBS6 Albany, citing the district attorney's office, called her a former girlfriend who was ending the relationship, and reported he was being evicted from the apartment they shared. Girlfriend, ex-girlfriend, and former girlfriend are three words for one relationship.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded at about 5:53 a.m. on April 12, 2026, to Queens Drive in the Town of Kingsbury, and that Guilder, 45, of Queens Drive, was charged with second-degree murder. That release did not name the woman who died. CBS6 Albany quoted Murphy saying Deputies Matthew Kraeger and Logan Catone went to a welfare check at an apartment complex in Kingsbury, got no response, spoke with neighbors, and entered the locked apartment. It quoted him saying they found Keenan on the floor, began lifesaving efforts, and later found Guilder locked in another room. Newport Dispatch reported he had locked himself inside the apartment and inside a room, and that lifesaving efforts failed. WNYT reported a neighbor called about loud noises and screaming, that police obtained a master key when they could not make contact, and that Guilder was in the apartment when police found Keenan. A master key and an entry into a locked apartment can be one step. In the apartment, and locked in another room, are not the same spot in the account.

NEWS10 reported documents showed a charging cord around Keenan's neck and a knife in a clothes basket in the room where Guilder was found, and that she had been trying to evict him. WNYT reported she was found with a cell phone cord around her neck and a charging block in her mouth. A charging cord and a cell phone cord may be the same object. A knife in a basket and a charging block in her mouth are not the same detail. CBS6 Albany and Newport Dispatch reported he strangled and beat her. Those are the accounts behind the strangulation count. The jury's guilty verdicts are the findings. Friday's terms are the sentence.

Nicole Virzi pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and was sentenced to 35 to 80 years.

Wednesday's plea is the conviction on those three counts, and the 35-to-80-year term is the sentence on the plea. A first-degree murder count is not the judgment. What she told detectives about shaking and dropping the infant is her recorded statement, as TribLive reported it. The parents' account of why they wanted a plea is what the prosecutor told the court.

Judge William Watson sentenced Charles Stokes to 14 years and 8 months to serve for shooting Heather Burrow.

Tuesday's terms are the sentence on a guilty plea to six felonies. The Courier-Record printed 74 years imposed, 58 years and 4 months suspended, and six terms that add to 73 years if the firearm count is the three-year mandatory minimum it listed. WTVR printed 74 years with all but 14 years and 8 months suspended. Both accounts leave 14 years and 8 months to serve.

Samuel Rocha was sentenced to 27 years to life for driving into bicyclists in Port Hueneme.

Tuesday's term is the sentence on an August guilty plea to second-degree murder and on the April jury convictions for assault and battery. The jury did not return a murder verdict. The office and the Los Angeles Times print the 16-year-old's name. This story does not, and it does not name the other minors who were hurt.
