A guilty verdict is the jury's finding on the counts. It is not the sentence. KKTV and KOAA reported Kimberly is due in Division 503 on Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. KRDO reported the trial ran three weeks and that the district attorney's office put on evidence of months of physical abuse of both children.
KKTV, KOAA, and KRDO reported Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, that a jury convicted Samantha Kimberly, 40, of one count of first-degree murder, two counts of child abuse, and accessory to a crime, according to the Pueblo County District Attorney's Office. KRDO reported she is from Pueblo West. KKTV and KOAA reported she was convicted on evidence from multiple expert witnesses, including an expert in child abuse. KRDO reported the trial lasted three weeks. A verdict is the jury's decision on those counts. The court has not imposed a sentence.
KKTV and KOAA reported Kimberly was arrested June 8, 2024, after Pueblo County sheriff's deputies were sent to a report that a 3-year-old was unconscious and not breathing normally. They reported that medical personnel were treating a child with visible injuries when deputies arrived. Prosecutors said the children, who were 14 and 3 at the time of the arrest, had endured months of physical abuse, and that the abuse of the 3-year-old caused his death from a severe brain injury, KKTV and KOAA reported. KRDO, citing the district attorney's office, reported the same account of months of physical abuse and a brain injury that killed the younger child, and that he died after being in critical condition from the time he was found. The children are not named in those reports.
KKTV reported the 14-year-old's injuries required treatment at a Colorado Springs hospital, and that the teenager was treated at a local hospital and then placed with the Department of Human Services. KRDO also reported the 14-year-old was later placed in the department's custody. KRDO reported that a second woman, Brittany Farmer, was arrested a few days after Kimberly, and that the 3-year-old's death raised the charges to include murder. Those Oct. 6 reports describe Farmer's arrest. They do not describe a sentence for her.
"We appreciate the jury's verdict in this tragic and difficult case. We extend our gratitude to the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office for their investigation and support during the prosecution to achieve justice for the victims. Any homicide case is difficult, but those challenges are amplified when the victims are children. We remain committed to protecting victims of crime and pursuing justice with the utmost care and determination," Pueblo County District Attorney Kala Beauvais said, as reported by KKTV, KOAA, and KRDO. KKTV and KOAA reported Kimberly will be sentenced Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. in Division 503. KRDO reported the sentencing date as Oct. 26. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Nathan Lee Lowe pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, and the court sentenced him to life without parole.
A guilty plea and a life term are the judgment on the counts he admitted. They are not a jury verdict, and the public accounts still do not name a weapon or a medical cause beyond trauma. WACB’s plea story says deputies found “obvious severe trauma.” WHKY, carrying that story, says “severe trauma.” The Taylorsville Times, citing Sheriff Chad Pennell the day after the 2024 arrest, said “apparent trauma” and listed Lowe’s age then as 39. The plea coverage lists him as 41.

A Marion County jury convicted Roderick Watson Jr., and the judge sentenced him to life.
A life term after a guilty verdict is the judgment on that count. It is not a second look at the self-defense claim the jury rejected. The State Attorney's Office says deputies found four gunshot wounds. Law & Crime, citing the arrest affidavit, says six. The office's release places the school "in Citrus." WFTV places it in Citra. The name on the office's release is Jaurez. Three other outlets spell it Juarez.

Judge Morgan sentenced Dylan Cody Lamb to life for killing Nadyne Marie Tillman.
Friday's order is the sentence on an August jury verdict. Keys News, citing the State Attorney's Office, reported life without parole plus two five-year terms that run together. Keys Weekly reported the verdict as second-degree murder, false imprisonment, and tampering with evidence. The Miami Herald's conviction story called one of those counts kidnapping. The judgment Keys News reported Friday used the false-imprisonment label.
