SEScoops reported Judge Christian Miller dismissed Tammy Sytch's motion as facially insufficient.
SEScoops and PWInsider reported Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, that Volusia County Circuit Judge Christian Miller dismissed Tammy Sytch's motion on Oct. 21 as facially insufficient. POST Wrestling reported a pro se filing on Oct. 13 and did not print that phrase. The order POST Wrestling quoted warned that setting the negotiated plea aside could expose her to up to 26 years. She is in custody in Florida.

Oct. 21 is an interim order that stopped the motion because required sworn statements were missing. SEScoops called that procedural. The 26-year figure is the warning in the order POST Wrestling quoted. It is not a new sentence, and the three outlets do not print the same prison math.
SEScoops reported Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, in a story by Mike Reichlin, that on Oct. 21 Volusia County Circuit Court Judge Christian Miller dismissed Tammy Sytch's motion as "facially insufficient." SEScoops reported the dismissal turned on procedure, not the merits, and that the filing lacked sworn statements Florida requires, including statements about the truth of the motion and Sytch's ability to understand English. PWInsider, in a story by Mike Johnson posted at 08:22:00 on Oct. 30, reported Miller filed an interim order that day dismissing the motion as "facially insufficient," and that he wrote she failed to comply with the Florida Rule of Criminal Procedure. PWInsider quoted the rule: the motion must be under oath stating that the defendant has read the motion or that it has been read to him or her, that the defendant understands its content, and that all of the facts stated therein are true and correct, and the defendant must certify that the defendant can understand English or that the motion was translated completely into a language the defendant understands. PWInsider reported that because those parameters were not met, the court automatically denied it. The PWInsider timestamp does not print a time zone. POST Wrestling, in a story by John Pollock dated Oct. 30, reported Miller filed an interim order and dismissed the motion for failing to include the necessary facts or claims to move forward. POST Wrestling did not print "facially insufficient." It printed the same oath-and-English rule. POST Wrestling reported that PWInsider first reported Sytch filed the motion pro se on Oct. 13, 2026. The PWInsider article says she filed a motion earlier this month. It does not print Oct. 13, and it does not print "pro se."
POST Wrestling printed the order: "The Court warns Defendant that, if she is successful in having her negotiated plea set aside, she should be aware that the State would not be bound by the plea agreement and Defendant could be exposed to any legal sentence that could be imposed if she is convicted of the charges." The quotation POST Wrestling printed continues that a second-degree felony punishable by up to 15 years, a third-degree felony punishable by up to 5 years, and six first-degree misdemeanors punishable by up to approximately 1 year each mean she faces up to 26 years, and that if she wishes to withdraw her motion she should file a notice of voluntary dismissal. Fifteen, five, and about six are the figures in that quotation. PWInsider reported the same "up to 26 years," set against the 17 years, 6 months she was sentenced to in November 2023, and reported she entered a plea of nolo contendere in August 2023. PWInsider reported that at the time prosecutors had been seeking over 26 years. POST Wrestling reported prosecutors were seeking a twenty-six-year sentence and that she received a lighter sentence. SEScoops reported that before the 2023 sentencing the State of Florida filed a memorandum asking for 26 years. Over 26, 26, and up to 26 are not the same figure. SEScoops reported she was sentenced in November 2023 to seven years on the DUI manslaughter count, to be followed by eight years of probation, and 10.6625 years on the count of causing death while driving with a suspended or revoked license, and that the two prison terms run consecutively. Seven plus 10.6625 is 17.6625 years of prison on those two counts. SEScoops also reported that 26 years would be well beyond the 17 years and six months she received. 17.6625 years is not 17 years and six months. PWInsider's 17 years, 6 months matches that second SEScoops figure. It does not match the sum of the two prison terms SEScoops printed.
SEScoops reported Sytch, the WWE Hall of Famer known as Sunny, pleaded no contest to charges from the crash in Ormond Beach, Florida. PWInsider reported the March 2022 death of 75-year-old Julian Lasseter during a traffic incident in Ormond Beach, and listed the conviction counts as including DUI causing death, causing death while operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver's license, four counts of DUI causing injury to a person, and three counts of DUI causing damage to property. POST Wrestling reported she pleaded no contest to multiple charges, including driving with a suspended license, driving under the influence, DUI with damage to a person, and DUI with property damage, and that in March 2022 she struck Lasseter, who died shortly afterward at 75. POST Wrestling's charge list and PWInsider's charge list are not the same list. POST Wrestling reported her blood-alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit, with a bottle of vodka found in her vehicle. PWInsider reported she is slated to be released from Lowell Correctional Institution in Ocala in December 2038. POST Wrestling printed "Lowell Correctional Institute" in Ocala and the same December 2038 date. SEScoops reported she remains at Lowell Correctional Institution in Florida. SEScoops did not print Ocala or December 2038. Institute and Institution are not the same spelling.
PWInsider reported the motion alleged ineffective assistance for a failure to investigate causation, including what the motion called a "low-speed collision," a "substantial and long-standing medical history" that included coronary artery disease and stenosis, toxicology records indicating Adderall and Cialis, and fractured ribs consistent with CPR. SEScoops reported those medical points as what she says records from civil discovery show, and that she says they should have been investigated before she entered her plea. POST Wrestling printed a line from the motion: "Defendant does not allege, without expert support, that any one medical factor conclusively caused death." PWInsider reported a conflict claim that lead Assistant State Attorney Ashley Terwilliger was married to the physician, Zachary Terwilligee, who declared Lasseter's death. POST Wrestling and SEScoops spelled that physician Zachary Terwilliger. Terwilligee and Terwilliger are not the same spelling. POST Wrestling reported that no evidence of a conflict was presented. SEScoops reported she asked for an evidentiary hearing, new counsel if necessary, additional discovery, and an order vacating the judgment and sentence. PWInsider reported she can file a motion to appeal the dismissal once it is final, or file a motion to dismiss her claims. SEScoops reported that in January 2025 Judge Karen A. Foxman denied a request to run the two prison terms concurrently, and that a Lasseter estate lawsuit ended with a $5 million civil judgment against Sytch in April 2025. A civil judgment is not the Oct. 21 criminal order. A no-contest plea is a conviction. The Oct. 21 order did not set that plea aside. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Daily Mail reported Robert Beckman was jailed for 21 months for stalking Joe Sugg.
Twenty-one months and a year and nine months are the same length. A campaign the Mail starts in 2022 and a course the BBC puts at 10 years are not the same span. The guilty pleas the Mail reported were at Brighton Crown Court last month. Thursday in Lewes is the sentence.

Division Two of California's Second District Court of Appeal affirmed Danny Masterson's two forcible-rape convictions and his 30-years-to-life sentence.
Tuesday's order leaves the 2023 convictions and the 30-years-to-life sentence in place. It is an affirmance, and the opinion is marked not for publication. A request for Supreme Court review, which the lawyers said they will file, is the next step. It does not itself undo the judgment.

A Delaware judge dismissed Candace Owens from the Macrons' defamation suit and left her companies in the case.
Dismissal of the person is not a ruling that the statements were true, and it is not the end of the lawsuit. The companies are still defendants. AFP described the French clock as a three-month rule with a possible one-year extension. The order instead tells the remaining parties to brief which of those two French timelines controls.
