The aggravated-murder count is the charge on a complaint in Portage County Municipal Court in Ravenna. The complaint says he shot the victim with a firearm multiple times. That is the accusation. News5 is the outlet that reported a name for the woman who died, and it reported that identification after he had been brought back and had declined to talk. Tuesday morning, the Beacon Journal still had the sheriff holding the name.
Portage County has charged Travis C. Lovett, 21, with aggravated murder, the Akron Beacon Journal reported, citing records at Portage County Municipal Court in Ravenna. The paper reported his last known address is in Florida, and that the complaint filed by the sheriff's office alleges he "shot the victim with a firearm multiple times." News5 Cleveland reported the same charge, reported he is 21, and reported he is from Seminole, Florida. The station spelled his name Travis Lovett. The Beacon Journal's court records use Travis C. Lovett. News5 reported he has been returned to Portage County and remains jailed on the aggravated murder charge. Sheriff Bruce Zuchowski told the station Lovett declined to answer investigators' questions after the arrest. A filed complaint is the charge. It is not a conviction.
The shooting was Tuesday morning, Oct. 20, at a home on State Route 183 in Atwater Township. News5, citing Zuchowski, reported deputies were first called shortly after 8 a.m. after a woman reported that a man she said had been stalking her for several years was at her front door. The station reported deputies got there and he was already gone. About 70 minutes later, News5 reported, a second call came in on the same home, and someone found a woman who had been shot and was bleeding. The station reported she was found face-down in a bedroom, had been shot multiple times, and died at the scene. The Beacon Journal, citing Detective Bureau Capt. Lew Finsen, reported the shooting was about 9:30 a.m. and that she died. Finsen told the paper the family had been notified and that her name would not be released until after Lovett was questioned. News5 later reported that authorities identified the woman who was killed as Alice Tully. That name is the station's report of the identification. The Beacon Journal's Tuesday story did not publish it.
Finsen told the Beacon Journal that Lovett fled in a vehicle. The paper reported the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Cambridge post took him into custody in Guernsey County early that afternoon, and that a soft lockdown at Waterloo Local Schools and Southeast Local Schools was lifted once he was caught. News5 reported state troopers used license-plate readers, found the vehicle going south on Interstate 77 in Guernsey County, and stopped it. The station reported dash and body-camera video showed troopers ordering him out at gunpoint and taking him into custody without a fight. Before that stop, the Beacon Journal reported, deputies described the man they were looking for as white, in his late teens or early 20s, with sandy shoulder-length hair, a tan shirt and pants, and a tan backpack, possibly in a small black car with black rims, last reported on State Route 183. The charge that followed that arrest is aggravated murder. News5 reported he is in the Portage County jail on that count. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff's officials named Edward Villa as the suspect after Katie Kinder, her son and her mother were found shot to death in Happy Valley.
Thursday's briefing names the three people and names Villa as the only suspect. The warrant was three counts of first-degree murder. He was found dead before an arrest. KPTV, citing Warrenton police, called it an apparent self-inflicted gunshot. KGW reported Detective Matt Lysaght would not go past a gunshot deputies heard, a firearm in the room, and the fact that no officer fired. KPTV and OPB call the motel the South Jetty Inn. The Oregonian calls it the South Jetty Motel.

An Oahu grand jury indicted Orion Satori on a second-degree murder charge in the Young Street stabbing of Kiril Stoimenov.
An indictment means a grand jury found enough to send the case forward. It is not a finding of guilt. Police have said Satori did the stabbing, according to Hawaii News Now. The next step is arraignment, where he will be asked to enter a plea. Second-degree murder in Hawaii carries a maximum of life with the possibility of parole, the station reported.
