WHAS11 reported Louisville Metro Police arrested Reed, 19, around 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, on murder and first-degree wanton endangerment. WLKY reported the arrest update came just before noon and did not print a degree on the wanton-endangerment count. The woman who died has not been named. WAVE and WHAS11 put the shooting in the 2600 block and called the area Parkland. WLKY put it in the 2500 block and called it the California neighborhood.

Saturday's booking is the police announcement. They have not named the woman, and they have not said how the shooting started. WAVE's account of a crash and a confrontation at a nearby apartment complex is what neighbors told the station. WHAS11 and WLKY did not report that sequence. A charge is not a conviction.

Louisville Metro Police arrested Tyrone Reed, 19, on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, after a woman was shot on Greenwood Avenue and later died, WHAS11, WAVE and WLKY reported. WHAS11 reported the Homicide Unit arrested him around 10 a.m. and charged him with murder and first-degree wanton endangerment. WAVE reported homicide detectives charged him with murder and first-degree wanton endangerment, and that police have not released a motive or the woman's name. WLKY reported officials said just before noon that the 19-year-old had been arrested and charged with murder and wanton endangerment, without the words first-degree.

The stations do not agree on the block or the neighborhood name. WHAS11 and WAVE reported officers were sent to the 2600 block of Greenwood Avenue. WHAS11 and WLKY reported that was just after 5 a.m. WAVE reported it was just before 5 a.m. WAVE and WHAS11 described the area as the Parkland neighborhood. WLKY described the 2500 block of Greenwood Avenue as the California neighborhood. All three reported officers found a woman who had been shot, that she was taken to UofL Hospital, and that she died. WHAS11 reported she was an adult. None of the stations named her. WHAS11 and WLKY reported police said everyone involved had been identified and accounted for.

WAVE reported what neighbors said they saw, and it reported that account as what the neighbors believe. Several of them told WAVE they think the woman was trying to get away from a confrontation that started at a nearby apartment complex, that she was behind the wheel after being shot, and that she drove about a block before crashing into a parked sedan. WAVE reported surveillance video captured multiple gunshots and what appeared to be a loud crash. A man whose car was hit, and who did not want to be identified, told WAVE he asked the woman if she was all right and that she seemed disoriented. WAVE also reported neighbors said gunfire hit a window of a nearby home. Ashley Spurlock told WAVE a friend who was asleep on the couch heard glass shatter, rolled off the couch and crawled to a bedroom, and that the friend was not hurt. WHAS11 and WLKY did not report the crash, the apartment-complex confrontation, or the broken window. Police did not confirm that sequence in the accounts those stations published.

The murder count and the wanton-endangerment count are accusations, not findings. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The NYPD email JNS quoted put the stabbing call at about 7:50 p.m. and the first attack at about 5:50 p.m. at West 45th Street and Sixth Avenue. Atlanta police charged Nikolai Dunford with first-degree vehicular homicide in the crash that killed Clark Atlanta student Morgan Gamble.

The speed is the core of the police account, and it comes from police, not a court. The Daily Mail reported the 94-mph figure from Atlanta police. Gamble's sister was quoted citing 95 in a 30 zone, which is the family's words, not the police figure. Dunford's lawyer has asked that the process be allowed to proceed carefully and fairly. A charge is not a conviction.
