The plea is a conviction on the counts he admitted. It is not the sentence. 14 News reported a murder plea. WEHT, citing court documents, reported murder and burglary. Dec. 2 is the hearing where a judge imposes the term. Law & Crime, citing those records, put his age at 35 and her age at 75. The Evansville Courier & Press had reported she was 74.

14 News reported Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, that Jamerus Parkman pleaded guilty to murder in the killing of Evansville realtor Susan Haynie. The station reported the trial had been set to begin Monday, that she was found dead inside her Gum Street home in August 2025, and that he had been charged with murder and burglary. It reported he had been released from prison six months before her death, and that court records set sentencing for Dec. 2. WEHT reported court documents say he pleaded guilty to murder and burglary, that the trial had been expected the following week, and that sentencing is Dec. 2 at 8:30 a.m. A murder plea in one account and murder plus burglary in the other are not the same list. WEHT is the station that tied both counts to the court documents.

Law & Crime reported it reviewed Vanderburgh Superior Court records showing the guilty pleas to murder and burglary and the Dec. 2 sentencing date, and that Parkman is 35. The outlet reported the Evansville Police Department said officers were called at about 5 p.m. on Aug. 27, 2025, to a home in the 3300 block of East Gum Street and found Haynie dead in the basement. It reported, citing WEVV, that investigators believe he entered through an unlocked door, and that a tablet seized from his hotel room allegedly showed he was in the yard around the time she died. It reported he had pleaded not guilty before changing the plea on Friday. Law & Crime reported she was 75. The Evansville Courier & Press, in its account of the charge, reported she was 74 and that prosecutors alleged she was strangled. 14 News and WEHT did not print an age or a cause of death.

WEHT reported Haynie's death inspired House Bill 1250, a law that changes victim-notification requirements in Indiana, and that Parkman had been released from prison six months before the killing. Law & Crime, citing WEVV, reported he was paroled in February 2025 after serving 13 years of a 35-year sentence for burglary, robbery, and attempted rape in cases from 2008 to 2010. Those are earlier convictions. They are not Friday's plea. The Dec. 2 hearing is where the court sets the punishment on the counts he admitted. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Lakeland police charged boxer Edgar Berlanga with aggravated battery after an Oct. 18 argument in Polk County.

The two counts are charges from an Oct. 18 allegation. BoxingScene has the charge titles, the bail, and the arraignment time. The New York Post has the affidavit's account of a pistol and a woman who got away to a 7-Eleven. An affidavit is not a conviction. She is not named here.

An FBI agent fatally shot Chadwick Clark during a Dixmoor warrant operation, and the FBI says the shooting is under review.

The FBI account is an agent-involved shooting, one person dead, no agent hurt, and an internal review. The family's account that Clark was unarmed, and a police source's count of people in custody, are not in the FBI statement. A review is not a charge.

Chief Judge Leigh Martin May sentenced Edwin Brant Frost IV to 15 years in the First Liberty fraud.

Monday's term is the sentence on a guilty plea to one count of wire fraud. It is not a jury verdict. The U.S. Attorney's Office, FOX 5 Atlanta, and The Citizen print the same restitution figure. The Newnan Times-Herald prints a figure that is fifty dollars lower.
