The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said Rodney Ewing Quinn, 66, and Dana Asbill Osborne, 63, were pronounced dead at the scene Saturday evening, Oct. 24, 2026, after their motorcycle struck a Honda Pilot. The two felony counts and the no-license citation are what CMPD, WSOC, and Queen City News reported from Saturday's arrest. The department said he showed signs of impairment. That observation is not a separate charge in those accounts. Queen City News also put the crash at Moores Chapel Road and Sam Wilson Road. CMPD and WSOC put it at a driveway in the 10600 block.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026, that officers responded at about 6:34 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, to a crash with injuries in the 10600 block of Moores Chapel Road, in the Freedom Division. The department said the Charlotte Fire Department and MEDIC also responded. It said officers found a Harley Davidson motorcycle off the left side of the road and a Honda Pilot with damage to the front left quarter. It said the Honda's driver, Jose Salas Tzompaxtle, 36, was on scene and reported no injuries. It said the motorcycle's driver, Rodney Ewing Quinn, 66, and passenger, Dana Asbill Osborne, 63, were lying in the roadway unresponsive, and that MEDIC pronounced both dead at the scene. WSOC reported the same block, put the response at around 6:30 p.m., and used the shorter names Rodney Quinn and Dana Osborne, with the same ages. Queen City News reported the 6:34 p.m. call and the full names, and it also described the scene as the intersection of Moores Chapel Road and Sam Wilson Road.

The department said a preliminary investigation found that Tzompaxtle was driving the Honda Pilot and turning left from the driveway at 10600 Moores Chapel Road onto Moores Chapel Road, and that he failed to yield to the Harley Davidson. It said Quinn tried to stop and struck the left front corner of the Honda with the right front side of the motorcycle. It said that as the vehicles came apart, the Harley Davidson went down on its side and Quinn and Osborne were ejected. The department described Osborne as the back seat passenger. WSOC and Queen City News called her the passenger and reported the same left turn from that driveway, the same failure to yield, and the same ejection. All three reported that Quinn and Osborne were wearing Department of Transportation-approved helmets. The department said next of kin for both have been notified.

The department said Tzompaxtle showed signs of impairment and was arrested. It said he was taken to the Mecklenburg County Detention Center and charged with two counts of felony death by motor vehicle, and that he was issued a citation for no operator's license. WSOC and Queen City News reported those same two counts and the same citation. Queen City News reported the West Mecklenburg Fire Department said, "Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives." The department said detectives from the Major Crash Investigation Unit, officers from the DWI Task Force, and Crime Scene Search responded, and that the investigation is active. It named Detective Kupfer as the contact for witnesses. Signs of impairment are what the department said officers observed before the arrest. The two felony counts and the license citation are the charges those outlets reported. They are not a verdict on who caused the crash. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Lakeland police charged boxer Edgar Berlanga with aggravated battery after an Oct. 18 argument in Polk County.

The two counts are charges from an Oct. 18 allegation. BoxingScene has the charge titles, the bail, and the arraignment time. The New York Post has the affidavit's account of a pistol and a woman who got away to a 7-Eleven. An affidavit is not a conviction. She is not named here.

An FBI agent fatally shot Chadwick Clark during a Dixmoor warrant operation, and the FBI says the shooting is under review.

The FBI account is an agent-involved shooting, one person dead, no agent hurt, and an internal review. The family's account that Clark was unarmed, and a police source's count of people in custody, are not in the FBI statement. A review is not a charge.

Chief Judge Leigh Martin May sentenced Edwin Brant Frost IV to 15 years in the First Liberty fraud.

Monday's term is the sentence on a guilty plea to one count of wire fraud. It is not a jury verdict. The U.S. Attorney's Office, FOX 5 Atlanta, and The Citizen print the same restitution figure. The Newnan Times-Herald prints a figure that is fifty dollars lower.
