Brevard County deputies charged Katherine Dale Kelly with attempted first-degree murder after a shot through a car window.
WESH, CBS12, and Space Coast Daily reported that Katherine Dale Kelly, 24, of Cocoa, is charged with attempted first-degree murder after a shooting early Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026. Space Coast Daily reported a sheriff's spokesman named the woman who was shot as Angel Adenau and the driver as Elijah Baker. The Space Coast Rocket reported an arraignment on Nov. 24 before Circuit Judge Michelle Naberhaus.

The attempted-murder count is what the affidavit says she did, and it has not been tried. CBS12 and the Space Coast Rocket do not print the same charge title for the shot into the car, and they do not put the field on the same side of the city line. Her account of the car and his account of the car do not match. Nov. 24 is the arraignment the Rocket reported. A bond order with no amount on the docket is not a release.
WESH reported that Brevard County deputies say Katherine Kelly took an Uber to her boyfriend's location on Saturday while carrying a gun, approached the passenger side of a vehicle he was driving, and fired a single shot through the window, hitting the woman in the shoulder. The station reported she faces several charges, including attempted first-degree murder, and that the woman was taken to a hospital. Space Coast Daily reported she is Katherine Dale Kelly, 24, of Cocoa, and that the sheriff's office said she tracked her boyfriend and another woman in Port St. John and opened fire on the vehicle, striking the woman in the shoulder. The site reported the charges as attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and use of a firearm during the commission of a crime. CBS12, citing a probable-cause affidavit, reported the charges as attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, shooting a deadly missile into an occupied vehicle, and use of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The Space Coast Rocket, citing Brevard County Clerk of Court records in case 05-2026-CF-055828, reported attempted first-degree premeditated murder with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, shooting a deadly missile into an occupied vehicle, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Shooting into an occupied vehicle, and shooting a deadly missile into an occupied vehicle, are two titles for the shot. Premeditated is in the Rocket's murder count. It is not in Space Coast Daily's list.
Where the shot was fired, and who was in the car, depends on which account is in front of you. CBS12 reported deputies responded about 2:34 a.m. Oct. 24 to a home on Monroe Avenue in Cocoa, that the woman was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center, and that the affidavit says the shooting happened in a grass field near a home on Bamboo Avenue in Cocoa. The same CBS12 story reported she told investigators the man picked her up about 1:20 a.m. in a dark-colored Volkswagen and drove to Port St. John, where he backed into an open field near a friend's home. Space Coast Daily reported the affidavit placed the shooting in the early morning of Saturday near Bamboo Avenue in Port St. John. The Rocket reported investigators later identified the scene as a grass field near the 6500 block of Bamboo Avenue in Port St. John, and that the 2:34 a.m. call was to Monroe Avenue in Cocoa, where deputies found a woman with a gunshot wound to her left shoulder. Bamboo Avenue in Cocoa, and the 6500 block of Bamboo Avenue in Port St. John, are not the same place name. Monroe Avenue is where the call came from. Space Coast Daily, citing a sheriff's spokesman, reported Elijah Baker picked up Angel Adenau about 1:20 a.m. in Kelly's Volkswagen, and that the shot struck Adenau in the left shoulder. CBS12 reported the man as Baker, without a first name in the story, and did not print the woman's name. The Rocket did not print either name and reported the boyfriend has not been charged. Left shoulder is Space Coast Daily and the Rocket. CBS12 says the shoulder, and once in the shoulder.
Her statement and his statement are both in the affidavit, and they do not agree on the car. CBS12 reported Kelly told investigators the man had taken her car without permission, that she ordered an Uber to the Port St. John area, and that she brought a firearm in her purse. The Rocket reported she told investigators he had taken her Passat without permission, and that the boyfriend told investigators she allowed him to take the car around 1 a.m. Taken without permission, and allowed around 1 a.m., are the split. CBS12 reported she first said she fired in self-defense, then said she wanted to "make a point" because she believed he was cheating on her again. Space Coast Daily reported the same shift, from self-defense to wanting to "make a point." CBS12 reported investigators found a pink-and-black Glock 43 in her purse and a 9 mm shell casing in the grass, and that the man's gray 2016 Volkswagen Passat had a shattered front passenger window and blood on the center console. Space Coast Daily reported a pink-and-black Glock, without the model number, and a 9mm casing. The Rocket reported she described a Glock 43 with a pink slide and a black lower. CBS12 reported the affidavit says she wrote that she was "gonna shoot" before she arrived, and that she had permanently deleted the messages from her phone. The Rocket reported the affidavit quotes a message, "I waws finna shoot sum istg," which the investigator read as a statement that she was going to shoot someone. "Gonna shoot," and that spelled-out line, are two renderings of the texts. CBS12 reported she told investigators she believed in "karma" and that the woman should have known the man had a girlfriend. The Rocket reported the same karma line, and that he had small cuts on his right arm, which he said came from the shattered window. CBS12 also reported those cuts.
The court date is the Rocket's. The site reported a warrant was issued and served Oct. 24, that she made an initial appearance Oct. 25, that she was declared indigent, and that the public defender was appointed. It reported an order setting bond was entered and that the amount was not listed on the public docket. It reported the case is assigned to Circuit Judge Michelle Naberhaus and that arraignment is set for Nov. 24. The Rocket reported that under Florida's 10-20-Life statute, discharging a firearm during an attempted murder in a way that causes great bodily harm carries a mandatory minimum of 25 years in prison upon conviction. That minimum is what the Rocket said the statute can carry if she is convicted. It is not a sentence. WESH, CBS12, and Space Coast Daily did not print the Nov. 24 date. The charges are the accusation in the affidavit and the clerk's list. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

An FBI agent fatally shot Chadwick Clark during a Dixmoor warrant operation, and the FBI says the shooting is under review.
The FBI account is an agent-involved shooting, one person dead, no agent hurt, and an internal review. The family's account that Clark was unarmed, and a police source's count of people in custody, are not in the FBI statement. A review is not a charge.

Chief Judge Leigh Martin May sentenced Edwin Brant Frost IV to 15 years in the First Liberty fraud.
Monday's term is the sentence on a guilty plea to one count of wire fraud. It is not a jury verdict. The U.S. Attorney's Office, FOX 5 Atlanta, and The Citizen print the same restitution figure. The Newnan Times-Herald prints a figure that is fifty dollars lower.
