KHOU and FOX 26 Houston reported Kiarious Hall and Jazmine Hall were arrested on assault charges after a fight at Imperial Park.
ABC13, KHOU, and FOX 26 Houston reported Kiarious Hall and his wife, Jazmine Hall, were arrested after a Saturday, Oct. 24 fight at a youth softball game at Imperial Park in Sugar Land. FOX 26's brief said he faces two assault counts and she faces one. KHOU said each was arrested on one charge of assault causing bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor. The players are not named here.

The counts are the charging paper. Two counts, one count, and a charge that is not numbered are not the same accusation. Thursday's statement from the district attorney says the charges may be upgraded. That is not an upgrade, and it is not a sentence. No plea was reported. No player is named here.
ABC13 reported Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, at 3:07 a.m., in a story by Miya Shay, that charging documents name Kiarious Marshun Hall and his wife, Jazmine Hall. That timestamp does not print a time zone. KHOU, in a story by Lupita Villarreal and Cory McCord published at 8:22 p.m. CDT on Oct. 28 and updated at 10:37 a.m. CDT on Oct. 29, printed Kiarious Hall and did not print Marshun. FOX 26 Houston's Oct. 26 story, by Terrian Spurs and Briahn Hawkins, and its Oct. 28 story, by Sakura Gray, also printed Kiarious Hall and did not print Marshun. ABC13 reported court records show Kiarious Hall was charged with assault causing bodily injury, and that both were booked into the Fort Bend County Jail. It did not print a count for Jazmine Hall. FOX 26's Oct. 26 story reported Jazmine faces one count of assault causing bodily injury and Kiarious faces two counts. The brief on Gray's Oct. 28 story says he faces two separate counts of assault and she faces a single count. The same Oct. 28 story, giving the district attorney's statement, says the Halls were each arrested for assault causing bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor. Two counts and one arrest charge are not the same number. KHOU reported both were charged with assault causing bodily injury, and later that each was arrested on a charge of assault causing bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor. KHOU did not print two counts. One charge each, two counts for him, and a count ABC13 did not print are three accounts. A charging document is the accusation. No plea was reported.
KHOU reported Sugar Land police went to Imperial Park around 7:30 p.m. Saturday after reports of an unconscious man near baseball field No. 4. FOX 26's Oct. 26 story reported court documents put the call at Imperial Park on East US 90 around 7:40 p.m. Saturday. 7:30 and 7:40 are ten minutes apart. A baseball field number and a highway are not the same location line. ABC13 did not print a clock time. It reported the game involved two 12-year-old select softball teams, that their team was Illusions Gold 2033, and that another man was from Timbergrove Thunder. Those are team names. No player is named here. FOX 26's Oct. 28 brief said 12U, and the story said 12-and-under. The district attorney's statement, as FOX 26 printed it, called the game little league. KHOU called it a youth softball game and did not print an age division. 12-year-old, 12-and-under, 12U, little league, and youth are not the same description. KHOU and FOX 26's Oct. 26 story reported Kiarious told police he was cheering for his daughter's team when a man said he could not cheer just before the pitch. He told them one man elbowed him and another grabbed him and poked him in the chest, and that he punched the second man once, in KHOU's account, so that the man fell, hit his head on the sidewalk, and lost consciousness. The sidewalk and the word once are KHOU's. FOX 26's Oct. 26 story reported the punch, the fall, the head, and unconsciousness, and did not print the sidewalk or once. ABC13 reported he claimed the men had elbowed and poked his chest and that he acted in self-defense. It did not print a punch. His account of a punch and the video's account of a bottle are not the same act.
KHOU reported a responding officer reviewed cellphone video and that court documents said it showed Kiarious holding a metal water bottle with a handle in his right hand, swinging it, and striking one of the men in the face. The man fell and lost consciousness. The officer reported Kiarious then swung the bottle at the other man before they exchanged punches, and that Jazmine entered and began throwing punches at the man fighting her husband. The three fell into nearby bushes. FOX 26's Oct. 28 story reported charging documents described three men arguing, Kiarious holding a metal water bottle in his right hand, and a swing directly into a man's face. It did not print a handle. It reported the video angle left it unclear whether that man had touched Hall before the swing, that Hall then swung the bottle again at the other man, later identified as Gary Greaser, and that Jazmine was seen running in and throwing punches. It did not print bushes. FOX 26's Oct. 26 story reported the video showed the bottle and the swing, and that it could not be clear from the angle whether either man touched Kiarious. ABC13 reported witness video reviewed by investigators showed Hall striking another father in the face with a metal water bottle, and that he fell unconscious. It reported court records say he then swung the bottle at a second man. It reported the video reviewed by officers did not show the elbowing and poking he described. Did not show and unclear are not the same finding. ABC13 reported the video also showed Jazmine running in and pushing Greaser before both fell into nearby bushes. Pushing and throwing punches are not the same verb. Both and three are not the same number of people in the bushes. KHOU reported the officer said witnesses appeared biased toward people they knew from their teams, and that the affidavit concluded Jazmine became an aggressor when she joined a fight she had not been in and threw punches. FOX 26's Oct. 26 story did not print that bias sentence. KHOU did not print Greaser's name.
ABC13 reported the father who was struck with the bottle was taken to St. Luke's Hospital. Attorney Steve Shellist, who represents that man, told ABC13 his client remains hospitalized with a broken jaw, a fractured skull, and three brain bleeds. FOX 26's Oct. 28 story reported Shellist said his client remains hospitalized with a skull fracture, a fractured cheekbone, three brain bleeds, and a blood clot, and that Shellist said the client never laid a hand on Hall and was stepping in to de-escalate. A broken jaw and a fractured cheekbone are not the same injury. A blood clot is in FOX 26's list and not in ABC13's. ABC13 did not print the de-escalate sentence. The hospitalized man is not named here. ABC13 identified Gary Greaser as the grandfather in a light blue shirt who tried to separate Kiarious after the first man was struck. It reported Greaser said he was there to watch his granddaughter. She is not named here. It reported his chin required seven stitches, that he had extensive scrapes, and that he had a broken hip. It reported he said, "I said 'You can't do this.' I took him, I wanted to disarm the guy, because he's going to do it to somebody else." FOX 26's Oct. 28 story reported court documents say the man struck by the bottle was taken to St. Luke's Hospital with a head injury and that Greaser sustained lacerations on his forehead, chin, arms, and knees. It did not print seven stitches or a broken hip. Seven stitches and lacerations on the chin are not the same medical report. KHOU did not print St. Luke's, Shellist, or those injury lists. ABC13 reported Shellist is in discussions with the Fort Bend County District Attorney's Office and wants prosecutors to consider upgrading the charges. KHOU reported that in a statement Thursday, District Attorney Brian Middleton said the charges may be upgraded or modified as medical records are gathered, and that formal charges are not restricted to the offense at the time of arrest. FOX 26 printed that same quotation and said the office gave the statement on Thursday. FOX 26's page is timestamped as updated at 8:41 p.m. CDT on Oct. 28. Thursday is Oct. 29. A Wednesday update stamp and a Thursday statement are not the same day. KHOU's update stamp is 10:37 a.m. CDT on Oct. 29. FOX 26 also printed a preamble KHOU did not: that the office is aware of the investigation into alleged assaults during a little league softball game, and that each arrest was based on the evidence available at the time. FOX 26 then said police will refer potential charges once the investigation is complete and the office will review it for legal sufficiency. KHOU said police will refer potential charges once the investigation is complete and prosecutors will review the evidence. Legal sufficiency is FOX 26's phrase. A request to consider an upgrade, and a statement that charges may be modified, are not a new charge.
ABC13 reported that by Monday Jazmine Hall had resigned as assistant principal at Lamar Junior High School, effective Monday, Oct. 26, 2026. The statement ABC13 printed said she voluntarily reported the incident to the district's human resources department, and that it was outside school and not a Lamar CISD event. The quotation, as ABC13 printed it, ends at the resignation. FOX 26's Oct. 26 story and KHOU also printed a sentence that the district holds employees, particularly those in leadership, to high standards of professional conduct. FOX 26 reported the district will not provide additional comment because it is a personnel matter. KHOU reported the district would not provide additional comments because the resignation was a personnel matter. Comment and comments are not the same word. ABC13 reported Hall declined to comment. KHOU and FOX 26 did not print that. FOX 26's Oct. 28 story reported the district attorney's office said both had bonded out, and that both are docketed for arraignment on Feb. 5, 2027. The brief on that story said a February 2027 court date and did not print Feb. 5. ABC13's Tuesday story said they were booked and did not say they had bonded out. KHOU did not print a court date. KHOU reported Illusions Gold Fastpitch said on Oct. 27 that the individuals involved have been permanently dismissed and the team is no longer associated with the program. FOX 26 printed that dismissal sentence and also printed, "We want to state unequivocally that our organization does not condone this type of behavior under any circumstances." KHOU reported the United States Fastpitch Association said anyone it determines participated in the physical altercation will receive a lifetime ban from its events. FOX 26 quoted the association: "Those determined to have participated in the physical altercation will receive a lifetime ban from USFA events." Anyone it determines and those determined to have participated are not the same tense. A dismissal from a softball program is not a criminal count. Feb. 5, 2027, is the arraignment date FOX 26 printed. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Multnomah County district attorney declined to prosecute Officer Daniel Hall in the fatal shooting of Eric Jonathan Hurtado.
Thursday's memo is the district attorney's decision not to present the shooting to a grand jury. It is not the Police Review Board's review, and Hall remains on administrative leave. The Oregonian's account of the memo moves from the St. Honore Bakery to the Oregon Wines store, the Dossier Hotel, and then the Vintage Hotel. KATU named the Kimpton Hotel Vintage at 422 S.W. Broadway. Those are not one address.

The Toronto Star reported David Morton and his daughters were shot in a Bridle Path home invasion.
Thursday's police account did not name the family. Friday's Star account did. CBC's 3:43 a.m. and CP24's around 3:45 a.m. are not the same clock. CBC's Thursday hammer account and CP24's Friday hammer account do not name the same people. The Daily Mail video put the break-in on Sunday.

A Hopkins County grand jury returned a no true bill for Dr. Stacey Fazenbaker.
A no true bill is the grand jury's decision not to indict. It is not a trial verdict. Insufficient evidence, in the Messenger's account of the release, and insufficient probable cause, in WFIE's story, are not the same words. About eight hours, several hours, and around nine hours are not the same length of time. The child is not named here.
