A capital-murder booking is the charge police announced a week after the shooting. It is not a conviction, and it does not name the extra circumstance the statute requires. CBS Texas headlined a 19-year-old as a teenager. FOX 4 credited the portrait to the Dallas County Jail. CBS Texas credited a portrait to the Dallas Police Department. The Dallas Express read a jail record that showed no bond had been set.

The Dallas Police Department's beat post, updated Oct. 25, 2026, said that on Oct. 23, 19-year-old La'Tyron Richmond was arrested and charged with capital murder, and that he was placed in the Dallas County Jail. The original post said that on Oct. 16, at about 9:14 a.m., officers responded to an assist-officer call in the 7300 block of Marvin D Love, that a man was found shot, and that Dallas Fire-Rescue pronounced 23-year-old Elidrian Trovell Reed dead. It said the motives and circumstances were still under investigation, under case number 152598-2026. It asked anyone with information to contact Det. J. Morgan, No. 9739, at 214-425-9905 or jake.morgan@dallaspolice.gov. The same line also prints kenneth.castoral@dallaspolice.gov in parentheses. FOX 4 printed only Morgan's email. An arrest on a named charge is the department's announcement. It does not say what evidence produced the charge.

FOX 4 reported Oct. 25 that Richmond was taken into custody Oct. 23, booked into the Dallas County Jail, and charged with capital murder in the Oct. 16 shooting. It reported officers responded at 9:14 a.m. to the 7300 block of Marvin D. Love Freeway and found Reed with a gunshot wound, and that Dallas Fire-Rescue pronounced him dead. It reported police have not disclosed what led to the shooting or a motive. CBS Texas reported Saturday that officers responded around 9 a.m., not at 9:14, found Reed dead after an apparent shooting, and that police announced Richmond's Oct. 23 arrest on a capital-murder charge. It reported he remained in the Dallas County Jail as of publication. Its headline called him a teenager. Every outlet that gave an age said he is 19. Around 9 a.m. and 9:14 a.m. are not the same time. Marvin D Love, without the word Freeway, is the department's wording. Marvin D. Love Freeway is FOX 4's and CBS Texas's.

The Dallas Express reported Oct. 26 that the department announced the arrest Oct. 25, and that a Dallas County jail record listed Richmond under booking number 26049955 and warrant number F2677152. It reported the record showed a $0 bond as of 5:01 p.m. Oct. 25, and wrote that the county explains a zero entry as a bond the magistrate could not set, and that the listing does not authorize release without payment. It wrote that Texas law requires an additional circumstance under Section 19.03 before a killing is capital murder, that one provision covers an intentional murder during a robbery, burglary, or kidnapping, and that the police update does not identify which circumstance is alleged. That is the paper's account of the statute. It is not a police statement that a robbery, a burglary, or a kidnapping occurred. The paper also wrote that if prosecutors do not seek death, the punishment for an adult convicted of capital murder is life without parole, and that if they do seek death the punishment can be life without parole or death. No outlet reported that prosecutors have filed a death notice. The charge is the booking. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Lakeland police charged boxer Edgar Berlanga with aggravated battery after an Oct. 18 argument in Polk County.

The two counts are charges from an Oct. 18 allegation. BoxingScene has the charge titles, the bail, and the arraignment time. The New York Post has the affidavit's account of a pistol and a woman who got away to a 7-Eleven. An affidavit is not a conviction. She is not named here.

An FBI agent fatally shot Chadwick Clark during a Dixmoor warrant operation, and the FBI says the shooting is under review.

The FBI account is an agent-involved shooting, one person dead, no agent hurt, and an internal review. The family's account that Clark was unarmed, and a police source's count of people in custody, are not in the FBI statement. A review is not a charge.

Chief Judge Leigh Martin May sentenced Edwin Brant Frost IV to 15 years in the First Liberty fraud.

Monday's term is the sentence on a guilty plea to one count of wire fraud. It is not a jury verdict. The U.S. Attorney's Office, FOX 5 Atlanta, and The Citizen print the same restitution figure. The Newnan Times-Herald prints a figure that is fifty dollars lower.
