A second-degree murder charge is the accusation RCMP announced. It is not a finding about how the man died, and none of these accounts named him. The RCMP release is dated Oct. 23. CBC News called the same charge a Sunday morning update.

Manitoba RCMP said further investigation into the death of a 55-year-old man in Leaf Rapids on Oct. 21, 2026, resulted in an arrest. The release, dated Oct. 23, says Matteo Baker, a 23-year-old man from Leaf Rapids, has been charged with second degree murder and remains in custody. CBC News reported Sunday, Oct. 25, that Baker, 23, was charged with second-degree murder and remains in custody, and it called that announcement a Sunday morning update. The Winnipeg Free Press reported the same day that RCMP charged Baker, 23, of Leaf Rapids, with second-degree murder and that he remains in custody. Second degree, in the RCMP release, and second-degree, in CBC News and the Free Press, are the same charge. A charge is the accusation those outlets reported.

The RCMP release says that on Oct. 21, at about 8:50 a.m., Leaf Rapids RCMP got a report of an unresponsive man at a residence on Nisku Bay, that officers found a 55-year-old man, and that he was pronounced dead at the scene. It says the death is being investigated as a homicide. The Free Press reported the same time, the same bay, and the same date. CBC News reported police received a report of an unresponsive man at a home in Leaf Rapids on Wednesday morning, that a 55-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, and that police began investigating the death as a homicide. Wednesday was Oct. 21. CBC News reported Leaf Rapids is about 750 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg. The RCMP release and the Free Press did not print that distance. None of the three named the man who died.

The RCMP release says Major Crime Services and Forensic Identification Services are continuing to investigate, and it asks anyone with information to call Leaf Rapids RCMP at 204-473-2944 or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. The Free Press reported the same two numbers. CBC News reported the Leaf Rapids RCMP number and reported that the investigation is continuing. It did not print the Crime Stoppers number. No account in this file describes a weapon, a relationship between the two men, or anything Baker is alleged to have said. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Lakeland police charged boxer Edgar Berlanga with aggravated battery after an Oct. 18 argument in Polk County.

The two counts are charges from an Oct. 18 allegation. BoxingScene has the charge titles, the bail, and the arraignment time. The New York Post has the affidavit's account of a pistol and a woman who got away to a 7-Eleven. An affidavit is not a conviction. She is not named here.

An FBI agent fatally shot Chadwick Clark during a Dixmoor warrant operation, and the FBI says the shooting is under review.

The FBI account is an agent-involved shooting, one person dead, no agent hurt, and an internal review. The family's account that Clark was unarmed, and a police source's count of people in custody, are not in the FBI statement. A review is not a charge.

Chief Judge Leigh Martin May sentenced Edwin Brant Frost IV to 15 years in the First Liberty fraud.

Monday's term is the sentence on a guilty plea to one count of wire fraud. It is not a jury verdict. The U.S. Attorney's Office, FOX 5 Atlanta, and The Citizen print the same restitution figure. The Newnan Times-Herald prints a figure that is fifty dollars lower.
