FOX Carolina and WYFF reported Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, that the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office detained Noah Ashton Kowalewsky, 24, after a deadly attack in Chesnee. Both reported deputies were called about 6:45 a.m. to the Food Lion on South Alabama Avenue. FOX Carolina used South Alabama Avenue. WYFF used S. Alabama Ave. Both reported that, before deputies arrived, they were told a man had physically attacked people in the parking lot. WYFF reported he hit one woman in the head with a pistol and shot another person. FOX Carolina reported he hit one woman in the head and shot another person, and did not print the word pistol. Both reported deputies detained Kowalewsky at the scene. FOX Carolina reported the sheriff's office was asked to investigate by Chesnee police because the case is a homicide. WYFF did not print that handoff.

The accounts of the victims are close, and they are not identical. FOX Carolina reported four victims: one shot and killed at the Chesnee Car Wash, one shot and physically struck with the gun at the Food Lion, and two who were pushed. It reported the person shot at the Food Lion was taken to a hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, and it did not name the hospital. WYFF reported victims were found at the Food Lion, a Hardee's, and the car wash, that one person was shot and physically struck with the firearm at the Food Lion, and that two other victims were pushed around near the Hardee's. It reported the person shot at the Food Lion was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and is expected to make a full recovery. Both reported the Spartanburg County Coroner's Office identified the person who was killed as Lenny James Presnell Jr., 39. WYFF reported he was of Chesnee. FOX Carolina did not print a town of residence. The woman who was struck, the person who was shot and survived, and the people who were pushed are not named in either story.

The charge lists do not use the same counts. FOX Carolina reported murder, attempted murder, two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime, felon in possession of a firearm, and two counts of assault and battery in the third degree. WYFF reported murder, attempted murder, felon in possession of a firearm, third-degree assault and battery, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and it did not print two counts of either charge. FOX Carolina reported he was taken to the Spartanburg County Detention Facility to await a bond hearing at 11 a.m. Wednesday. WYFF reported he is expected in court Wednesday morning and did not print a time or a jail. FOX Carolina reported a Food Lion spokesperson said the store would remain closed for the day and that questions about the incident were being directed to law enforcement. Wednesday's hearing has not happened. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The two counts are charges from an Oct. 18 allegation. BoxingScene has the charge titles, the bail, and the arraignment time. The New York Post has the affidavit's account of a pistol and a woman who got away to a 7-Eleven. An affidavit is not a conviction. She is not named here.

An FBI agent fatally shot Chadwick Clark during a Dixmoor warrant operation, and the FBI says the shooting is under review.

The FBI account is an agent-involved shooting, one person dead, no agent hurt, and an internal review. The family's account that Clark was unarmed, and a police source's count of people in custody, are not in the FBI statement. A review is not a charge.

Chief Judge Leigh Martin May sentenced Edwin Brant Frost IV to 15 years in the First Liberty fraud.

Monday's term is the sentence on a guilty plea to one count of wire fraud. It is not a jury verdict. The U.S. Attorney's Office, FOX 5 Atlanta, and The Citizen print the same restitution figure. The Newnan Times-Herald prints a figure that is fifty dollars lower.
