The four counts are what police say he is charged with. They are not a verdict. Gothamist calls him an ex-boyfriend. The Post, ABC7 and amNewYork call him her boyfriend. The number of children is split, and the children are not named here.

The New York Post, Gothamist, ABC7 and amNewYork reported Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, that Rogelio Lozano-Garita, 26, was charged in the death of Seraphina Pereira, 35, whose body was found in a shallow grave at Rockaway Community Park in Edgemere. All four reported the charges as murder, criminal possession of a weapon, concealment of a human corpse and tampering with physical evidence. Gothamist reported police said he was charged Tuesday and was taken into custody Monday, and called him her ex-boyfriend. The Post reported he was arrested Monday, that the arraignment was pending Tuesday, and that cops said he was charged with her murder and with dumping her body. ABC7 reported the boyfriend of the missing woman has been charged, and that he is of Queens. amNewYork, citing law enforcement sources, reported he was charged with the killing and was led from the 101st Precinct on Tuesday afternoon on his way to face a judge. amNewYork reported he told reporters, "I am innocent, I didn't kill her."

Where she was found is the same park, and the clock is not printed the same way. The Post reported the body was found about half a mile away on the night of Oct. 24, wrapped in a blanket in a pit at Rockaway Community Park. Gothamist reported the body was discovered near a cricket field in Edgemere just before 10 p.m. Saturday, about half a mile from the home, and that the medical examiner ruled the death a homicide on Monday. amNewYork reported cops found her at around 9:42 p.m. on Oct. 24 near Beach 58th Street and Almeda Avenue, buried in a shallow grave, with signs of decomposition. ABC7 reported the grave was at Rockaway Community Park near Beach 58th Street and Almeda Avenue. The Post and Gothamist reported she was reported missing on Oct. 19. ABC7 reported she was reported missing a week earlier from the Ocean Bay Apartments on Beach 54th Street. Gothamist reported the missing-person report was from NYCHA's Ocean Bay apartments on the morning of Oct. 19. The Post, citing sources, reported she was last seen alive that day with Lozano-Garita at her Beach 54th Street home. amNewYork reported he reported her missing, and that sources said statements he made during the investigation led detectives to the body.

The wounds are a direct split. The Post reported she suffered gunshot wounds to the head, neck and torso, and that the city medical examiner's office ruled the death a homicide. Gothamist reported the chief medical examiner said she had been shot in the head, neck and torso. ABC7 reported the medical examiner determined she had been shot once in the head. amNewYork reported authorities said she suffered a single gunshot wound to the head. ABC7's account and amNewYork's account are one wound. The Post's account and Gothamist's account are three. amNewYork reported police sources said the motive is not yet known, and that he does not have a prior criminal record.

The relationship and the children are not one account, and the children are not named here. The Post, citing law enforcement sources, reported he is the father of Pereira's youngest child, and that video showed him pushing a wagon of large garbage bags out of her building about two hours after they were seen together, then dragging the wagon into a wooded area at Beach 58th Street and Almeda Avenue. That video account is the Post's sources. Gothamist did not print it. ABC7, citing law enforcement sources, reported that when he was detained Monday he was identified as a person of interest and the father of two of her children, and that a neighbor said, "She got three kids." Gothamist reported she was a mother of three. amNewYork reported she was a mother of four, including two with him. Three, four, one child with him, and two children with him are all in the Tuesday stories. None of the outlets named a child. amNewYork reported Davonna Gray, Pereira's sister, told the Daily News the family had been putting up flyers. The charges are what the outlets say police filed. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Lakeland police charged boxer Edgar Berlanga with aggravated battery after an Oct. 18 argument in Polk County.

The two counts are charges from an Oct. 18 allegation. BoxingScene has the charge titles, the bail, and the arraignment time. The New York Post has the affidavit's account of a pistol and a woman who got away to a 7-Eleven. An affidavit is not a conviction. She is not named here.

An FBI agent fatally shot Chadwick Clark during a Dixmoor warrant operation, and the FBI says the shooting is under review.

The FBI account is an agent-involved shooting, one person dead, no agent hurt, and an internal review. The family's account that Clark was unarmed, and a police source's count of people in custody, are not in the FBI statement. A review is not a charge.

Chief Judge Leigh Martin May sentenced Edwin Brant Frost IV to 15 years in the First Liberty fraud.

Monday's term is the sentence on a guilty plea to one count of wire fraud. It is not a jury verdict. The U.S. Attorney's Office, FOX 5 Atlanta, and The Citizen print the same restitution figure. The Newnan Times-Herald prints a figure that is fifty dollars lower.
